Dolores Catania is putting an end to one of the biggest questions surrounding “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island” Season 2.
Liz McGraw announced in July that she would not return for the show’s sophomore season. But when cameras started rolling again, eagle-eyed fans became convinced they had spotted McGraw filming with her former castmates, fueling speculation that her departure might not be as final as it initially sounded.
Now, Catania says there is no mystery to solve.
Dolores Catania Addresses Rumors Liz McGraw Is Filming RHORI Season 2
Catania addressed the growing speculation during the Aug. 20 episode of iHeartRadio’s “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast, making her answer about McGraw’s status perfectly clear.
“That is a fake news rumor,” Catania said.
She followed that up with an even more definitive answer.
“She is not filming this year,” Catania added.
The speculation began after footage circulated on social media that fans believed showed McGraw alongside one of her former RHORI castmates while Season 2 production was underway.
The sighting was enough to get Bravo fans talking. McGraw had already publicly announced her departure, but viewers began wondering whether she had quietly returned in some capacity, perhaps as a surprise appearance rather than a full-time cast member.
According to Catania, however, fans shouldn’t read anything into it.
Her comments seemingly close the door on the idea that McGraw has secretly rejoined the show, at least for the upcoming season.
Liz McGraw Announced Her RHORI Departure in July
McGraw revealed in July that she had decided to step away from “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island” after appearing on its debut season.
“I’m full of gratitude for the amazing opportunity to appear on this show,” McGraw wrote in her announcement.
“As filming for season 2 begins, I have made the decision to take a step back and focus on my family, my work and my passions. The RHORI cast is an amazing group of women who have created something special.”
Her announcement came as attention was already beginning to turn toward what Season 2 could look like following the franchise’s first season.
Naturally, that hasn’t stopped viewers from watching for clues.
Once filming began, social media became a source of speculation about who was in, who was out and whether any familiar faces could still make unexpected appearances. The footage believed to feature McGraw only added another layer to those questions.
Catania’s comments now offer one of the clearest answers yet about McGraw’s immediate future with the franchise.
Catania herself has a unique connection to the Rhode Island group. “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star appeared during RHORI’s first season as a “friend of” and has remained close to members of the cast, putting her in a position to know what is happening as production moves forward.
For now, though, fans hoping McGraw’s exit announcement was merely hiding a surprise comeback shouldn’t get ahead of themselves.
As far as Catania is concerned, McGraw isn’t filming Season 2.
