Heather Gay is entering a new era on “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” and this time, she has someone new by her side.
The RHOSLC star revealed ahead of Season 7 that she is in a serious relationship with a man named Tripp. While Heather has kept much of the romance away from social media, she recently opened up to Bravo Insider about their history and just how serious things have become.
For Heather, the relationship also marks a first. Despite being married before, she said Tripp is the first person she has ever really considered a boyfriend.

Heather Gay and Tripp Knew Each Other for Years Before Dating
Heather and Tripp’s romance may be relatively new, but they are far from strangers.
Heather told Bravo Insider that the two began dating in December 2025 after already knowing one another for approximately 10 years.
“We’ve known each other for a decade,” she said.
That history eventually turned romantic, and Heather has made it clear that their relationship has become much more than casual dating.
“I might be falling in love,” Heather initially said before quickly correcting herself. “Actually, it’s past tense. I’ve fallen in love. It makes me emotional.”
Heather’s official Season 7 bio also describes her as embracing her “relationship era” while spending time with her new boyfriend.
Tripp Is Heather Gay’s First ‘Real’ Boyfriend
Heather’s relationship with Tripp represents particularly unfamiliar territory for the RHOSLC star.
Heather divorced her ex-husband, Billy Gay, in 2015, but explained that her Mormon upbringing meant she never experienced dating in the way she is now.
“I just didn’t really date growing up. I’ve never had a boyfriend I was, like, sleeping with and dating, because I just never had a boyfriend like that,” Heather told Bravo Insider.
Instead, she said she went “straight into marriage.”
That makes Tripp “the first boyfriend [she’s] ever really had,” according to Heather, as well as the first boyfriend viewers will see her bring into her life on RHOSLC.
Will Heather Gay’s Boyfriend Appear on RHOSLC?
Yes. Tripp is expected to make his Bravo debut during Season 7.
The season trailer offers a first glimpse at the relationship, including a conversation that hints Heather and Tripp may not see their future in exactly the same way.
“I’m never getting married again,” Heather tells him in the trailer.
She then asks, “Do you worry it’ll affect our relationship?”
The preview cuts away before viewers hear Tripp’s response, leaving the couple’s conversation about marriage as one of the relationship storylines to watch this season.
Whatever Heather ultimately decides about walking down the aisle again, she has left little doubt about where her feelings for Tripp currently stand.
