Longtime “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams, who is set to star in season 17 with some familiar faces as well as several newcomers, took to her Instagram Stories the week of February 2, 2026 to set the record straight on engagement rumors that were swirling. The rumors involved Porsha and her girlfriend, Patrice “Sway” McKinney, with whom she went public in late November 2025.
As of late January, the pair was still going strong. Sway hyped Porsha up with a loving post which read, “What I admire most about you is now unapologetically you live your life. You move on your own terms, and that kind of freedom is inspiring. That’s the energy we’re staying in baby – high vibrations only ’round here!”
The Encore Salon Suites founder continued, “Keep being an amazing mother, daughter, sister and friend.” Sway then showed her pride for Porsha by adding the hashtag #ThisMine before saying, “Crazy how after 8 years we circled the block.”
Things might be all smiles for the couple, but that doesn’t mean they’re getting married anytime soon. Porsha hopped on social media the the other day to shut those rumors down.
What Porsha Said About Engagement Rumors To Sway McKinney
When engagement rumors sparked in early February 2026, Porsha was quick to set the record straight. The 44-year-old wrote on her Instagram Stories, “I am not engaged,” before adding a laughing emoji. She then called out a false picture that was posted alongside the rumor, saying, “Like really? Does that pic look like me? Lawd! Don’t believe everything you see people.”
Porsha then called out the people who started the rumors, saying it’s “crazy” how blogs will “just make up a completely fake story and people will believe.”
Porsha Has Been Married Twice

In 2018, she was engaged to entrepreneur Dennis McKinley, with whom she welcomed a daughter in March 2019. However, the pair split up that June. The two remain collaborative coparents, according to Bravo.
From 2022 to 2025, Porsha was married to Simon Guobadia, a Nigerian film producer. In June 2025, she described to People the moment she knew things were over with the 61-year-old, saying, “There was some paperwork that needed to be handled, and I wanted to bring in some attorneys to represent me, and that was frowned upon.” She said it wasn’t Guodabia’s words that affected, but rather a look that “just felt dark.” Porsha recalled, “I knew I was not looking at the same person I loved before. I could tell that he was just pretty much checked out of the relationship at that point.”
