Jennifer Tilly Recalls the Sweet Gift Given to Her by Diane Keaton

Diane Keaton sadly passed away at the age of 79 on October 11. As a result, many of her colleagues have taken to social media to pay tribute to her legacy. Among the people who have offered kind words is Jennifer Tilly, who is currently one of the stars of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

Keaton appeared alongside Tilly in “Sister Mary Explains It All.” The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star said, “Diane was so warm and wonderful, and had a great sense of humor. I loved working with her.”

Tilly continued, “I still have the beautifully engraved bible that she gave me as a wrap present.  She was a truly unique individual. Such a loss. 😔”

Notably, Tittly tribute to Keaton included a repost from X, which read, “Rest in peace to Diane Keaton, who starred in Sister Mary Explains It All with Jennifer Tilly.”

Not Much is known about Keaton’s Passing

PEOPLE reported that Keaton has passed away on October 11. She was in California at the time of her passing. A spokesperson told the outlet, “There are no further details available at this time, and her family has asked for privacy in this moment of great sadness.”

Naturally, this prompted several tributes from fellow actors and fans of her work. One person on X said, “The passing of Diane Keaton really hits hard. While there are so many films to point to for her brilliance, this moment from Marvin’s Room really sums it up for me.”

They continued, “To live is to love, not just to receive love, but to give love. And man, did I love Diane Keaton. Her memory will forever be for a blessing.”

The Academy wrote on X, “Some actors play emotions. Diane Keaton lived inside them. Diane Keaton embodied the contradictions of being human: funny and fragile, bright and bruised, always achingly honest. For decades, she filled every frame with warmth, wit, and wonder. A Best Actress Oscar winner and four-time nominee, her presence shaped generations of storytelling. Her spirit will live forever on screen, and in the hearts of all who saw themselves in her.”

She Left the World Better than She Found It

Keaton is one of the most beloved actresses of all time. According to IMDb, one of her first on-screen roles came in 1970 when she appeared in “Love and Other Strangers.” She appeared in several other films and TV series after that, but her big break came two years later when she was cast as Kay Adams in “The Godfather.”

After that, she won her Oscar in 1977 for her role in “Annie Hall.” Of course, her work continued in the decades that followed, including films such as “Sister Mary Explains It All,” “Something’s Gotta Give,” “The Family Stone,” “Mama’s Boy,” and others. Keaton will be missed.
