Lisa Rinna made a bold fashion statement in a gown accentuated with 11 pounds of human hair at an Oscars afterparty.
The former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star hit the red carpet at the annual Elton John Oscars afterparty, as reported by PEOPLE, who shared details about her couture look. The outlet reported that fashion designer Christian Cowan used ethically sourced human hair to create a gown molded to Rinna’s body.
Lisa Rinna Said She Loves to Take a ‘Risk’
To PEOPLE, Lisa Rinna revealed she loves to take a “risk” when it comes to fashion. She told the publication that when she saw designer Christian Cowan’s dress design, she was on board.
Getty“I love to take a risk, I love to do fun things,” Rinna explained. “I was like, ‘This is crazy, but why don’t you send me some sketches?’”
The actress added, “With my iconic hair that I’ve had for 25 plus years, it just felt right, so I was like, ‘I love this. Let’s go with this.'”
“Fashion, it’s art, and it’s a way to express yourself. I enjoy that so much, and I think showing other people how much you enjoy something helps them to go, ‘Oh, I could do that,’ or ‘I could change my hair up or wear a wig.’ Whatever it is, I hope that I give people ideas to take risks,” she concluded.
Rinna joked that her daughters, Delilah Belle and Amelia Gray, and husband Harry Hamlin, didn’t bat an eye when she shared with them a sketch of the gown.
“They know me well enough by now to be like, ‘Yeah, mom would do something like that, for sure,’” Rinna quipped. “Everyone’s like, ‘Oh yeah, cool.’ And they know Christian. Delilah’s walked in one of Christian’s shows, and so it’s an all-in-the-family kind of thing, which I also love.”

Christian Cowan, who designed Lisa Rinna’s unforgettable Oscars afterparty look, shared a sneak peek at how the dress was crafted via an Instagram Reel.
He captioned the reel, “A-List hair. Reimagined in the most iconic…legendary…way.”
The gown’s creation was a collaboration with products from TRESemmé’s A-List collection, reported PEOPLE. In the video upload, the hair line was used to create a sleek look for the gown.
