Lisa Vanderpump Opens Up About RHOBH Exit, Kyle Richards Friendship 7 Years Later

Lisa Vanderpump said she’s at peace with her decision to leave “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” seven years ago, and she gave a glimmer of hope that she could reconcile with former co-stars in the future.

In April 2026, the restaurateur turned Bravo TV personality appeared on “The View” and confirmed that her RHOBH days are done.

“Let me think about that for a second… no,” Vanderpump cracked when asked if she’d ever consider a return to the reality show.

“I did nine and a half years on that show, and I had a good time. It gave me so many opportunities, and I’m thankful for that. But it got a little more aggressive, and I bowed out gracefully,” Vanderpump explained.

In 2021, Vanderpump told Entertainment Tonight that it would be “impossible” for her to return to RHOBH with the same cast members that were there when she left the show. “If they kind of cleaned house, then maybe,” she teased.

Lisa Vanderpump Addressed Her Relationship With  Kyle Richards

Vanderpump’s RHOBH exit came amid the “Puppygate” scandal of Season 9, which culminated with an infamous argument with longtime co-star Kyle Richards. She has not spoken to Richards since, with the exception of a few run-ins in public.

On “The View,” Vanderpump said she was open to talking to Richards under the right circumstances.

“I’ve always said I enjoyed my relationship with her, but maybe it wasn’t what I thought it was, because I’m a very loyal friend,” Vanderpump noted. “I’ve always said I’m open to discussion, but it has to start with an apology. Sorry—that’s me. I think you’d all feel the same.”

Vanderpump previously told Access Hollywood’s Housewives Nightcap that a reconciliation with her former friend would be difficult after Richards insinuated that she was untruthful about her role in the dog rescue scandal.

“It needs to start with an apology to ever reconcile because you can’t ever pick up a friendship when somebody’s calling you a liar. That doesn’t work for me at all,” the SUR owner said in 2024.

Lisa Vanderpump Thanked Supportive Fans

While she’s no longer on RHOBH, Vanderpump has continued in reality TV on “Vanderpump Rules,” “Vanderpump Villa,” and more.

“I’ve done probably four or five hundred episodes [of reality TV] and produced a couple hundred of episodes, and the audience has been so good, so supportive, on so many levels,” she said on “The View.”

“I’ve been through so much on the show,” Vanderpump added. “I went through [losing my] brother, my only sibling… my mother dying, losing dogs, which is devastating. But also incredible celebrations and things I’ve accomplished. And the audience has always been with me, by my side, and for that I thank all of you.”
