Meredith Marks says “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” saved her marriage. The Bravo TV personality and her husband, Seth, who married in 1996 and share three children, were separated during the first season of the Salt Lake City-based reality show.
By the end of 2020, the couple had reconciled, and by the time Season 3 rolled around in 2022, they filmed a memorable bathtub scene.
In an October 2025 interview with Us Weekly, Marks, 53, admitted, “I do honestly credit ‘Real Housewives,’ coupled with COVID, for saving my marriage.”
“We were in a horrible place when we first started,” she added of her relationship with her husband.
Marks explained that being on a reality TV show requires “a lot of self-reflection” and “teaches you how to communicate better.” “I say Seth and I are on our second marriage — technically, no, we are not; we did not divorce and remarry, but emotionally we are. It’s a very different relationship,” she said.
Meredith Marks Said Not Everyone on the Show Tells the ‘Truth’ About Their Marital Issues
Bravo“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” is one of the franchises in which a lot of the husbands are very involved in the show. All of the cast members except Heather Gay and “friend” Britanie Bateman are married, and the husbands are often featured in group events and solo scenes with their wives.
One exception is cast member Mary Cosby. In October 2024, she appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” and explained why her husband, Robert Sr., won’t film for the reality show.
“He’s a man and they hold grudges,” Cosby said. “Once he gets over his grudge-holding, he’ll be better, and he’ll probably show his face more. … He just doesn’t trust [the producers]. He doesn’t want them to give him bad press.”
In the Us Weekly interview, Marks claimed some of her other co-stars don’t share everything about their marriage on camera. “I was pretty straightforward that I had some very significant problems, and we worked really hard to get to the place that we’re at,” she said. “Like, I told the truth, and a lot of them don’t talk about their problems.”
Meredith Marks Shared Her Biggest Marriage Tip
With her 29-year marriage in a good place, Marks feels confident to give advice on how she makes things work with her husband.
“No. 1 is communication,” she told People magazine. “As soon as that goes, everything else follows.”
“I think all relationships are somewhat perpetually hanging by a thread. But it’s interesting working together,” the RHOSLC star shared. “We spend a huge amount of time together already just because we do travel so much, and a lot of times, he’s working all day from the same space I’m in.”
