NeNe Leakes returned to Bravo for the first time in six years on Sunday. The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star made an appearance during the premiere of “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th Special” much to the delight of fans.
The star hasn’t been part of the “Real Housewives” franchise since the season 12 reunion for the show, which was filmed virtually due to the pandemic impacting scheduled shooting.
NeNe appeared alongside fellow cast member Porsha Williams, where she was seen in a shot packing up her suitcase for the girls trip with multiple destinations. Porsha said in a clip that it was important for NeNe to be part of the 20th anniversary special, and that without her the season would be “incomplete”.

The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th” premiered on Saturday at 9pm ET/PT, dropping its first nine episodes. Episodes of the program are available to watch on Bravo but fans can also watch episode via streaming on Peacock the day after they air.
Each week a new episode of the Girls Trip will become available, each packed with roaring 20s themed glamour, reflections, twists, turns, candid convos, and so much more. The cherry on top is the huge amount of cameos set to take place throughout the episodes, with over 80 other members of the “Real Housewives” world set to make an appearance. About NeNe Leakes
NeNe was one of the original breakout stars of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”, first appearing on the program in 2008. She left the show in June 2015 after season seven, later returning for seasons 10 and 12. But then she permanently existed the program in September 2020 ahead of filming beginning for season 13.
Citing reasons for leaving the “Real Housewives” world, NeNe said she wanted to pursue other opportunities including acting and business ones. The star went on to make a Broadway debut as Madame in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella”, and starred as Matron “Mama” Morton in the hit show “Chicago”. NeNe further continued to compete on NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice”, and to appear on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” among other achievements.
Today the popular star boasts 4.3 million followers on Instagram alone and refers to herself as both a TV personality as well as an entrepreneur.
