RHOC’s Gina Kirschenheiter and Travis Mullen have been together for over six years, and he is still battling his ex in divorce court. As part of their long-running custody battle, Travis and his ex, Meghan Mullen, have both been ordered to participate in a psychological exam.
Court documents recently obtained by Us Weekly say that the evaluations will “assist the court in making a determination regarding the custody and visitation arrangement that is in the best interest of the minor children.”
Travis Wants Sole Custody of His Children
GETTYTravis and Meghan have three young children: Presley, Bennett, and Joseph. They married in 2010 and split in September 2016. Travis then filed for divorce in March 2017.
In March 2025, Meghan skipped drug testing and messed with Travis’s custody time, so he returned to court and requested sole custody of their children. “Her refusal to take a court-ordered drug test further supports my suspicions that [Meghan] is consuming illegal substances, which could drastically impair her ability to care for our children,” he said in filings.
According to Us Weekly, Travis and Meghan agreed to allow a Newport Beach doctor to conduct a “full child custody evaluation regarding” their children. The doctor will also have access to teachers, family members, and any other relevant adults in the kids’ lives.
Gina Wishes for a Peaceful Co-Parenting Situation
While the “Real Housewives of Orange County” cast member wishes for peace and the ability to move on from the chaotic situation, she doesn’t expect it. Gina recently told Us Weekly, “It’s really unfortunate and I see the fallout. I see the fallout on us, on the kids and don’t understand why it’s happening. I obviously am a very big proponent of co-parenting and being everything good for the kids, but you can’t fix everything, and you can’t control everything. We went on a family vacation just a couple of weeks ago, with not all of our kids. So that’s really sad, and I don’t get it, and I never will.”
Gina also considered the possibility of Travis and Meghan working together willingly to co-parent. “Together? I don’t. Don’t. Just because I’ve been given zero indication that that’s what his ex wants, so if she doesn’t want that, there’s nothing that we can do other than what we’ve already been doing, which is not doing anything to make any of this happen.” She has learned to stay in her own lane while supporting Travis, making the kids her priority.
As someone who is going through a successful co-parenting relationship with her ex, Gina can’t understand not wanting a peaceful end to the drama. “I don’t anticipate it. I used to try to understand it, and I’m honestly not willing to give any more energy to trying to figure that out. That is not my burden, that is not my cross to bear.”
