“The Amazing Race” is back for season 37 with its biggest cast yet and new twists abound.
The latest season of the world faring show premieres on CBS Wednesday, March 5 with a 90 minute episode and 14 teams ready to take on the challenge.
Host Phil Keoghan teases the things viewers can look forward to including game changers throughout the season like “Fork In The Road” – which involves two different path options the racing teams.
“…The direction you choose could have major consequences on whether you are eliminated or not, and whether you actually do well or not,” the host tells TV Line.
Keoghan promises many, many more jaw dropping moments during every episode.
“And there will be a few other things throughout the season, some things that are returning that fans have seen before and then some other new elements that are there to add to the surprises,” he tells The Wrap. “The show is a surprise show. I mean, literally, every time they rip open an envelope, it’s a surprise.”
Traveling to Places New and Old
According to a press release, the starting line for the season premiere will take place in Hong Kong, where the first “Fork In The Road” will occur. In the following episode, teams will head to Osaka, Japan where racers hit their first “Intersection.”
Along with heading to areas like Hong Kong, Japan, and Portugal, racers will also land in Bulgaria – a first for the show.
Season 37 of “The Amazing Race” premieres Wednesday, March 5 at 9:30 PM ET/8:30 PM PT. Stream episodes on Paramount+.
