It’s double the joy for John Luke Robertson and his growing family. The “Duck Dynasty” alum, 29, and his wife, Mary Kate Robertson, shared that they’re expecting twin daughters early next year, calling it “the most wonderful, crazy surprise blessing” of their lives.
The couple announced the happy news on Instagram with a touching photo from the beach, featuring their eldest son, John Shepherd, 5, proudly holding a sonogram.
“Absolutely thrilled to tell y’all we are welcoming TWINS to our family early next year!!! Two new little Robertson girls!🩷🩷” Mary Kate wrote in her caption, capturing both her excitement and disbelief at the double surprise.

Bringing Up Bates star Carlin Bates also shared her congratulations, commenting, “CONGRATULATIONS! How very exciting!! 😅”
A Growing Family Full of Love
The couple, who wed in 2015, are already proud parents to three children, sons John Shepherd, 5, and Wells, 2, and daughter Ella, 4.
Earlier this year, Mary Kate shared a sweet Easter family photo, writing, “Everyone looking and smiling!!! A mom’s dream come true ha! But really, cherishing this pic of this season we’re in!❤️”
In September, she celebrated Wells’ 2nd birthday with an adorable tribute: “His sweet smile is a glimpse of all the joy & light he brings to our lives! Such a little gift!”
A Love Story Rooted in Faith
John Luke and Mary Kate first met as teenagers at a Christian summer camp in Louisiana, where they bonded during a wall-sit competition. “We got to talk during that competition to get our minds off the pain,” Mary Kate once told This Redeemed Life.
After reconnecting in high school, the two began dating in 2014 and got engaged later that year. They’ve since built a family grounded in faith, joy, and adventure — now preparing to welcome two more little blessings.
Fans first met John Luke on the hit A&E series Duck Dynasty, which featured brothers Phil and Si Robertson as well as Phil’s sons Jase, Willie, and Jep. John Luke is the son of Willie.
The original series aired on the network from 2012 to 2017, following the family’s adventures as they navigated running their duck-hunting supplier business, Duck Commander. A&E announced a reboot of the series in 2025.
