Rob Rausch and Maura Higgins’ reality TV journey together continues. The stars from “Love Island USA” will co-host a new reality series on Peacock called “Get Me Out of Here” that’ll put celebrities to the test without their luxurious life.
Rob Rausch and Maura Higgins Will Host ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here’
PeacockRausch, 28, betrayed Higgins, 35, on “The Traitors US” and made it up to her with a Birkin bag. The good friends are now going to host a show featuring celebrities and their non-famous friends facing the elements.
“An updated and amped-up take on the massive global format ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here,’ the series is set in a dense and unforgiving jungle, pairing celebrities with a non-famous friend or family member in the ultimate test of friendship,” Peacock announced in a press release.
“Stripped of every luxury – and the perks, privileges, and creature comforts of celebrity – duos face a series of physical and psychological challenges, earning rewards to avoid elimination,” it continued. “But here, the celebrities don’t call the shots – instead, they must partner up, taking the lead or deferring to their bestie, all while the treacherous environment takes its toll.”
The pairs will be in the jungle, and the one that is left standing wins $100,000. The show already exists overseas, and Higgins was on the British version of the show in 2024.
How Long Did Maura Higgins Last on ‘I’m a Celebrity’?
Higgins was a late arrival on series 24 of the foreign show. She entered on day five with Reverend Richard Coles. The “Love Island” star admitted to having a potty mouth and apologized for it around him with “Sorry, Father.”
She placed seventh and left the Australian jungle on day 19. The reality star is known for loving designer bags, clothes, and other lavish things. But she was serious about the competition and came with a goal.
“I don’t know how I did it. I really don’t, but I swore to myself before going in there, I will not say, ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here,’…I’m so glad those words did not come out of my mouth,” the reality star said on This Morning.
“I’m shocked by how strong I was in there,” Higgins told Cosmopolitan. “My first big trial with critters, I was very nervous, and I really didn’t think I was going to be able to do that. I’m terrified of even little spiders.” She went on the show without getting her eyebrows and eyelashes done to embrace the spirit of the competition.
Higgins isn’t afraid of new challenges. She’s currently competing on “Dancing with the Stars” Season 35. Her professional dance partner is Mark Ballas, who was also on “The Traitors US.”
The new Peacock series is set to premiere in 2027. Higgins previously was a host on After Sun for “Love Island USA.” Ciara Miller and Tefi Pessoa took over as hosts for season 8.
