Talented Reality Star Passes Away Unexpectedly at 26: Girlfriend Honors Him With Heart-Wrenching Tribute

Reality TV star Maycon Douglas, who is known to fans as DJ Juicy Rasta, has tragically passed away at 26. The shocking news was confirmed one week after he disappeared on New Year’s Eve.

Mirror reported that authorities confirmed that a body discovered on Praia do Sul beach in Nazaré, Portugal, on January 7 was identified as Douglas, as reported by CNN Portugal.

The reality star, who appeared on season 8 of “Secret Story – Casa dos Segredos,” was reported missing since 31st December 2025. According to the report, Douglas’s last known appearance was captured on camera as he left a bar in Nazaré, where he worked as a DJ, and headed home.

Friends later told local media that they never heard from him ever again.


Car Found Submerged Near Lighthouse

As per reports, before Douglas’ body was discovered, authorities had already located his car submerged in the sea near the São Miguel Arcanjo lighthouse in Nazaré.

The vehicle was found nearly 20 feet underwater, as confirmed by Portuguese maritime officials.

Divers confirmed there was no one inside or near the vehicle at the time it was recovered. Douglas’ jacket was later found inside the car, per CNN Portugal. His body was recovered by Portuguese maritime officials on January 7 after an alert was received at 1:50 p.m. local time.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding his tragic death, and an autopsy is expected to determine the exact cause of his death.


Final Social Media Message Before His Death

In his final Instagram post, shared on December 30, Douglas shared his outlook on the year ahead and on life. Writing in Portuguese, he described 2025 as “intense” and added, “2026 is vision, discipline, and consistency.”

He also shared a personal reflection on New Year’s. “One of the most meaningful dates for me is New Year’s… why ? I don’t know. Maybe that feeling of starting over, even though you know that deep down, it’s all the same 😂.”

At the time of his death, Douglas had more than 50,000 followers on Instagram and 22,000 on TikTok, where he frequently shared behind-the-scenes joyful moments from his work as a DJ and reality TV personality.


Girlfriend Pays Emotional Tribute

Following confirmation of his death, Douglas’ girlfriend, Raquel Coelho, took to Instagram to share a deeply personal tribute.

She shared a carousel of black-and-white memories. She reflected in Portuguese, “Saudade (a feeling of longing/missing someone). There is no stronger feeling in my experience.”

“An emptiness that doesn’t fit in my chest, and no matter what I do, or who I’m with, it never leaves me. There are moments when it’s my companion, others when I can’t breathe. I’m still trying to figure out the best way to deal with it.”

She continued, “I would give anything to have you back, anything. To go back in time and have stopped you in time. To feel your embrace, to laugh out loud together like only we knew how. How much I miss your smile. It doesn’t make sense without it.”

Coelho added, “You appeared in my life unexpectedly, and you don’t know how grateful I am that you did. You made me believe again that it is possible to find good people, and that it is possible to love and have reciprocity in that love.”

Fans quickly flooded the comments with messages of love and sympathy, offering condolences and remembering Douglas for his warmth, talent, and spirit.

As per Metro UK, a funeral service for Douglas was held in Leiria, Portugal, on Sunday, January 11. The dress code was white, chosen “as a way to honor light and peace during this time of farewell.”
