“Strictly Come Dancing” professional Dianne Buswell has announced she is pregnant. In a joyous video posted to both her Instagram account and that of her partner, YouTuber Joe Sugg, the red-haired star shared the news to the couple’s combined 7.8 million followers.
With Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” playing over it, the video shows Buswell and Sugg erecting an easel in their home, and painting something with the canvas facing away from the camera. The couple then turn the canvas around to reveal a picture of themselves represented as matchstick figures, with a child in between them holding their hands, headlined by the number 2026. Of course, this represents the fact that their baby is due some time next year.
Australian Buswell, 36, and Englishman Sugg, 34, who met when they were paired up on 2018’s sixteenth series of “Strictly Come Dancing,” then jump up and down in celebration, before sharing a kiss and doing a little a dance. Buswell also points at her abdominal area (just in case viewers didn’t know where the baby might be!).
Sugg captioned the video, writing, “Our little baby boy ❤️ we cannot wait to meet you,” confirming the baby’s gender to be male.

A former “Strictly Come Dancing” contestant, television presenter Stacey Dooley, wrote, “YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES 😭” and the show’s official account commented, “So happy for you both! Huge congratulations from the whole Strictly family🥰.”

Suffice it to say, the news has brought smiles to a lot of faces.
Buswell Will Become the First Star to Participate in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Whilst Pregnant
GettyBuswell, who also appeared as a professional on the 2015 series of the Australian version of “Dancing with the Stars,” and won series 22 of “Strictly Come Dancing” in 2024 while partnered with blind comedian Chris McCausland, will still take part in series 23 of the British show while she’s expecting. It will be the first time anyone participating in the show will do so whilst pregnant.
It’s not yet known who will be partnered with Buswell, but the possibilities include former England rugby player Chris Robshaw, businessman and star of “The Apprentice” Thomas Skinner, television presenter Ross King, and actor Lewis Cope.
All will be revealed when “Strictly Come Dancing” returns to the small screen at 6:40 p.m. GMT on Saturday, September 20.
