“Beyond the Gates” star Daphnée Duplaix bravely opens up about her years-long health battle as she undergoes surgery.
The 49-year-old actress took to Instagram on March 26 to reveal she would go under the knife after work.
“Today, after work, I’m having surgery — and I’m calling it exactly what it is. Reclaiming my uterus,” Duplaix wrote.

In the same post, “Beyond the Gates” star Daphnée Duplaix shared more details about her health struggles, hoping to raise awareness.
“Four years ago, a doctor told me my only option was a full hysterectomy,” the actress revealed. “I said no. I waited — and that waiting came with real suffering. Heavy bleeding. Uncertainty. A blood transfusion. Regular iron infusions. Managing with anxiety and stress, just pushing through. But I kept going.”
Duplaix added that with the help and support of a friend, she eventually sought a second opinion. The soap star revealed that the new gynecologist identified the “biggest culprit” — a polyp — which could be treated without the need for a hysterectomy.
Duplaix Urges Women to Advocate for Their Health
Daphnée Duplaix is now urging women to be more proactive about their health and seek second opinions when needed.
“Women — please hear me. Fibroids, polyps & cyst grow inside us with no warning and no clear reason,” the “Beyond the Gates” star wrote. “Our bodies are still being researched and studied. Medicine does not always have all the answers, and the first answer you’re given is not always the right one.”
She continued, “Go to your gynecologist regularly. Ask questions. Get second opinions. Do not let anyone make a permanent decision about your body before every option has been explored. You deserve that. Your body deserves that. Today I take mine back.”
Meanwhile, fans took to the comments to show their support for Duplaix. Someone wrote, “So glad you didn’t let them convince you to do something that wasn’t necessary, you took your health into your own hands.”

I’m glad you got a second opinion and waited to get it right for you.AS for my self back in 1980, I got a myomectomy, and had to get 10pints of blood, because he didn’t want to give me a historectomy ,because I was only 29years old with no children, but after five years the tumors grew back and the tumor now is bigger then before, and cause of my age now and other problems they don’t want to take it out
