However, what some viewers may not realize is that Carlo Rota, who portrays Sidwell on the soap, has a very different off-screen love life.
The 64-year-old actor recently celebrated his 16th anniversary with his wife. Here’s the emotional message Rota shared.

“General Hospital” star Carlo Rota married his 43-year-old wife, Nazneen Contractor, on April 1, 2010. The actor recently took to social media to celebrate their 16-year wedding anniversary.
In a touching Instagram post, Carlo wrote, “And suddenly : it’s Sweet Sixteen Years of kisses and wrestling and fun and love and travel and bliss and more!”
The “GH” star added, “Oh yes, also children and more! Love love love !!”
Fans poured into the comments to send the happy couple well-wishes.

Nazneen Contractor and Her Husband Are on Opposite Sides of the Law On ‘General Hospital‘
As one fan pointed out on Carlo Rota’s Instagram post, both he and his wife, Nazneen Contractor, are currently appearing on “General Hospital.” However, they represent very different sides of the story.
While Carlo’s character, Sidwell, is an international crime boss, Nazneen portrays Justine Turner, the District Attorney of Port Charles.
Interestingly, that hasn’t stopped Nazneen from fraternizing with the enemy. However, just not with her husband’s character, as DA Turner is actually the love interest of the other mob boss in town, Sonny Corinthos, portrayed by Maurice Benard.
Carlo Rota and Nazneen Contractor Have a 21-Year Age Gap
Carlo and Nazneen first crossed paths in the acting world in 2001 on the set of “Relic Hunter.” Nazneen was just 18 at the time, and “Relic Hunter” was her first big guest-starring role.
Speaking on Maurice Benard’s podcast, “State of Mind,” Nazneen shared that Carlo actually played her strict father, who was trying to marry her off, in that first guest role.
Nothing came of that initial meeting, but the two would actually reconnect about six years later at a bar in Toronto, and the rest was history.
The “GH” stars tied the knot in 2010 and share two children. The couple’s son, Darius, was born the day before Christmas in 2011, and their daughter, Avalucia, was born the day after Christmas in 2017.
Though they play opposing roles in Port Charles, Carlo Rota and Nazneen Contractor’s real-life love story continues to stand strong.
