‘Survivor 50’ Teases Tribe Swap: Meet the New Tribes

We are officially two weeks and three eliminations into the milestone 50th season of “Survivor.”

While the golden anniversary installment has already seen longtime host Jeff Probst snuff the torches of fan-favorite “Survivor: Borneo” star Jenna Lewis-Dougherty and “Survivor 49” champion Savannah Louie, as well as the shocking medical evacuation of “Survivor 48” winner Kyle Fraser, the remaining 21 castaways are set to face yet another “In the Hands of the Fans” twist on next week’s third episode.

According to the episode’s official description from CBS, “a foreboding treemail message leaves castaways hungry for more information regarding an imminent change. Knowledge is power as the boomerang idols begin to rear their heads within tribes. Then, past mistakes and baggage haunt players in their quest for redemption on ‘Survivor 50.’”

That’s right!  It’s already time for our castaways to drop their buffs for the first tribe swap of the season. The game-changing twist was instituted by production following the results of last year’s “In the Hands of the Fans” voting categories.

While Episode 2’s “Next Time on ‘Survivor’” sneak peek gave fans a brief look at how the new tribes will shape up, first-look snap shots from Episode 3 –  “Did You Vote for a Swap?” – have revealed exactly which castaways ended up on which tribes.

Without further ado, here’s everything you need to know – from spoilers to predictions – for next week’s episode of “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans.”

Meet to New Cila Tribe

After the remaining castaways drop their buffs on the upcoming episode and draw new ones at random, the following players wind up on the new Cila Tribe

  • Cirie Fields
  • Rick Devens
  • Dee Valladares
  • Kamilla Karthigesu
  • Rizo Velovic
  • Charlie Davis
  • Jonathan Young

Both Cirie and Devens will remain at the same camp where they started the game, while absorbing original Kalo Tribe members Charlie, Dee, Jonathan and Kamilla, leaving Rizo as the sole original Vatu member on the new Cila Tribe.

Rizo, who’d previously made strides when it came to forming alliances with old-school players like Colby Donaldson, could potentially be in a bad position on this new tribe, especially considering its obvious majority of former Kalo members.

Meet the New Vatu Tribe

The following players will draw purple buffs during next week’s tribe swap, signifying them as the all-new Vatu Tribe.

  • Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick
  • Ozzy Lusth
  • Emily Flippen
  • Christian Hubicki
  • Mike White
  • Q Burdette
  • Angelina Keeley

As a result, original Vatu members Stephenie, Angelina and Q, will remain at their camp, absorbing original Cila members Ozzy, Emily and Christian, leaving “White Lotus” creator Mike White as the sole original Kalo member on the new Vatu Tribe.

That being said, White will now be paired with both of his former “Survivor: David vs. Goliath” co-stars, Angelina and Christian. The potential alliance could bode well for all three players heading into this week’s tribe swap.

Meet the New Kalo Tribe

Lastly, the following castaways will draw teal buffs during next week’s tribe swap, landing them on the new Kalo Tribe

  • Aubry Bracco
  • Colby Donaldson
  • Tiffany Nicole Ervin
  • Benjamin “Coach” Wade
  • Chrissy Hofbeck
  • Joe Hunter
  • Genevieve Mushaluk

Original Kalo members Chrissy, Coach and Tiffany will remain on the updated version of the tribe, absorbing original Vatu members Aubry, Colby and Genevieve, leaving Joe as the sole original Cila member on the new Kalo tribe.

Given the fact that Joe’s Episode 2 argument with Rick Devens resulted in the vast majority of his original tribe members not wanting to work with him, the tribe swap could actually spell good news for the Season 48 finalist.

Find out how these new tribes shape up, and who will be the next to have their torch snuffed, when “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans” returns to CBS screens nationwide on Wednesday, March 11 at 8:00pm ET.
