Carson Daly Worries He’ll Get ‘Canceled’ After Confessing Hilarious Dating Rule for His Kids

Carson Daly may be joking about getting โ€œcanceled,โ€ but his brutally honest take on his kidsโ€™ future dating lives is exactly the kind of relatable parenting moment fans canโ€™t stop laughing about. While chatting with Jenna Bush Hager on โ€œToday with Jenna & Sheinelle,โ€ the longtime โ€œThe Voiceโ€ host revealed the one type of person he hopes his children never bring home, and his reasoning somehow turned a simple family dinner into comedy gold.

Carsonโ€™s Funny Dating Rule for His Kids

While he was guest co-hosting on โ€œToday with Jenna & Sheinelle,โ€ Daly and co-host Jenna Bush Hager started talking about Kylie Kelceโ€™s recent comments on her โ€œNot Gonna Lieโ€ podcast about dating rules for her daughters. It turns out, she wouldnโ€™t be able to let her kids date a Dallas Cowboys fan. As someone who was married to an Eagles player, it does make sense.

Thatโ€™s when Bush Hager asked Daly if he had any of his own rules for his kids. Turns out the 52-year-old TV personality does have some dating dealbreakers for him and his wife, Siri Pinter Dalyโ€™s children, and now heโ€™s worried about getting canceled for his comments.

Daly said, “The only reservation I would have for my kids would be, like, a vegan or something like that maybeโ€ฆ”

That is when you can hear laughter in the background from the producers. Daly then covered his mouth with embarrassment, adding, โ€œIs that bad to say? Am I gonna get canceled for that?”

Clarification Needed

After making the statement and questioning if he would be canceled or not, Bush Hager chimed in. She asked for some clarification on the comment, as she wondered if it was just because Carson wanted his future daughter or son-in-law to eat meat.

Daly said, “Yeah, I mean, look at me! Food is, like, a really important part of, like, the fabric of our family. If we didn’t have food, I wouldn’t talk to my wife about anything. It holds us together, so if one of them brought home a date who was super picky. Like, โ€˜I don’t eat anything โ€” fish from the sea, cows that go moo.’ Like, I’ve got a Traeger [smoker], bro.”

Daly and his wife, who happens to be a chef, share son Jackson, 17, and daughters Etta, 13, London, 11, and Goldie, 6.

Jenna also wanted to know about potential gluten allergies in the future partners of Dalyโ€™s kids.

Daly joked, “That’s fine. Allergies, of course, I’m not the devil. I don’t wish illness on the boyfriends… I’m just saying it would suck if they came into the house on Sunday and we were gonna do a big Daly feast of pizzas and they were like, โ€˜I can’t eat anything.’ I would just be like, โ€˜He’s a loser.'”

While Jenna told him to keep his thoughts to himself regarding his kidsโ€™ future dates, Carson admitted,  “I don’t think I can hold it inโ€ฆ don’t let the door hit you on the butt on the way out.”

Carsonโ€™s Other Bold Move

While Carson made some bold statements regarding his kidsโ€™ future dating plans, it seems like he has other big takes when it comes to his children.

It looks like Carsonโ€™s eldest child, son Jackson, will be heading off to college next year. And Carson will be joining him?

“I’m looking for real estate around the university,” Daly joked. ” ‘Buddy, we’re gonna get a sick apartment here. I’m going to hang out. It’s gonna be great.’ In my mind, I’m going with him to college. The reality hasn’t hit yet.”
