One month into the Jonas Brothers’ 20th anniversary concert tour, the beloved trio has already thrilled fans with surprise guest appearances from celebs including Demi Lovato, Switchfoot, Jesse McCartney, Hoobastank, JP Saxe, JoJo, and the Plain White T’s. And at the group’s Los Angeles show on September 6, 2025, the crowd went wild when R&B crooner and “The Voice” coach John Legend hit the stage.
Best known for his soaring ballads and for shining a light on serious topics like civil rights, as he did in his Grammy-winning “Glory” from the 2014 movie “Selma,” Legend let loose with the Jonas Brothers and social media lit up with videos of them all having a blast performing together.
Nick Jonas Gave a Beautiful Introduction to John Legend
Nick Jonas appeared as a coach on “The Voice” for seasons 18 and 20 alongside Legend, and the crowd went wild as he sweetly introduced his former colleague to the stage on September 6.
“We have something in store for you tonight that is legendary,” Nick teased the crowd, as seen in the fan video above.
“I remember the first time I heard a song by this artist,” he continued. “I was sitting watching the Grammy Awards on TV, at home at our house in Wyckoff, New Jersey. And I thought to myself, ‘Well, that is a different kind of voice, a different kind of storyteller, someone who is truly connected to something profound.”
Nick then recalled, “And years later, I didn’t know I’d be sitting with Joe and he said, ‘I just had an amazing session with this artist that we love.’ He played me a song that he wrote with this person and, honestly, I was pretty jealous, not gonna lie. He rubbed it in and I played the song on repeat for months.”
After chuckling with his brother Joe about how jealous he’d felt, Nick shared how grateful he was to later get the chance to work with Legend on “The Voice.”
“You know, we got to know this person over the years and, eventually, I got to do a TV show right here in Los Angeles where we kind of battled back and forth, all in good fun,” Nick told the crowd. “But I got to absorb just a tiny bit of his light, of his artistry, and his brilliance in those two years I did that show.”
Nick concluded, “And, man, I can’t believe I’m about to say these words, but Los Angeles, please welcome our friend and your friend, Mr. John Legend.”
John Legend Played ‘All of Me’ After Nick Jonas Introduced Him
In a rare casual look, Legend strutted out onto the stage wearing jeans and a hoodie, and gave all three brothers hugs as the crowd screamed.
An upright piano was waiting for him at center stage in the Intuit Dome, and as Legend sat down to play his hit song “All of Me,” the crowd joined along with every word and the Jonas Brothers joined him for the chorus.
