As celebrities poured into the Beverly Hilton for the 83rd Golden Globes on January 11, 2026, many of them stopped to schmooze with rap legend and “The Voice” coach Snoop Dogg, who was on the red carpet conducting interviews for Access Hollywood.
But when Snoop interviewed another member of “The Voice” family — former coach and recent mentor Nick Jonas — and his wife, actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, many viewers felt like something seemed off with the Jonas Brothers star.
Snoop Tried to Have Fun With Nick Jonas on the Red Carpet
Priyanka was clearly thrilled to chat with Snoop, who started by asking the “beautiful couple” if it was their first time at the Golden Globes. But Nick replied dryly, “Uh, no, this is our second time as a couple and I think I’ve been three or four times. It’s always a good night.”
Nick briefly smiled as Priyanka swooned over the fact that Snoop knew about her upcoming movie, “The Bluff.” But he repeatedly dabbed his forehead with a white handkerchief, and many fans noted online that he looked less than thrilled to be there.
“Slick Nick, where have you been?” Snoop asked at one point, and Nick answered, “Busy. Me and the brothers just finished up a 76-show tour across the U.S. and Canada.” When Snoop joked, “Not 6 – 7?” Jonas chuckled slightly, shook his head and continued, “No, not 6 – 7. And then, I got a new solo coming out in a couple of weeks, it’s called ‘Sunday Best.'”
Snoop leaned down and said, “So, when ya gonna call me back in the studio? C’mon now!” and Nick half-heartedly said, “Whenever you want.” Snoop then handed the couple gift bags, which also did not seem to impress Jonas. But after Priyanka told the rapper that their daughter loves his kids’ show ‘Doggyland,’ Nick did laugh a little at Snoop’s elated reaction.
Thousands of Fans Felt Like Something Was Off With Nick Jonas
GettyOn social media, the overwhelming consensus from fans was that something seemed off with Jonas, who appeared as a mentor for Reba McEntire’s team on “The Voice” in the fall of 2025 while Snoop was also on the show. The usually animated and enthusiastic Jonas Brother didn’t exude the same warmth and excitement fans are used to from him.
On a video of the exchange on YouTube, one viewer wrote, “Nick you good?? Maybe he’s sick cuz it looks like he doesn’t want to be their lol” and on Instagram, another person similarly commented, “Nick, you good bro?”
Nearly 3,000 followers liked another comment that asked, “Why does nick seem so uncomfortable talking to snoop?”
Some fans expressed concerns that he might be having a “diabetic episode,” given that Jonas has been open about dealing with Type 1 diabetes for the last two decades. Others suggested Jonas might be having an “anxiety attack” or suffering from “sensory overload.”
Earlier in the evening, Nick looked like he had much more fun at home before the awards show, posting a video of himself and Priyanka strutting their stuff, all dressed up for the Golden Globes. He also posted a video while he got ready, putting on his Fossil watch and talking about his Berluti tux.
The “Jumanji” actor was a bit more animated in additional interviews on the red carpet with E! News and other outlets, and the couple was photographed attending Netflix’s Golden Globe afterparty at Spago following the awards show.
