Nick Jonas to Star in New Horror Film

Singer, songwriter, actor, and “The Voice” coach Nick Jonas will star in a new horror movie that’s going to inject a little terror into the festive season.

It’s called “White Elephant” and it will be directed and co-written by Eli Craig. Per IMDb, Craig is the man responsible for helming the critically acclaimed horror movies “Tucker & Dale vs. Evil” (2010), “Little Evil” (2017), and “Clown in a Cornfield” (2025), so it’s undoubtedly in good hands.

The movie’s plot description on IMDb makes it seem rather exciting. It says, “Follows eight friends whose annual festive holiday gift exchange spirals into a cutthroat game of Christmas carnage.”

Per Deadline, the film will be distributed by Black Bear Pictures. They’re the company behind horror movies like 2015’s “Knock Knock,” 2020’s “The Rental,” and 2024’s “Immaculate.” They’re also responsible for many great non-horror flicks. They include the 2014 biographical thriller “The Imitation Game,” the 2020 romantic drama “I Carry You with Me,” and the 2023 biographical sports drama “Nyad.”

“White Elephant” will be financed by MRC under their RSPX venture. RSPX is a partnership between MRC, Radio Silence, and Project X.

With all of that in mind, Eli Craig’s latest offering certainly sounds like something horror fans should be excited about.

‘White Elephant’s’ Cast Is Great

Nick Jonas is joined in the “White Elephant” cast by a talented group of actors. It’s another key reason to be excited about the movie.

Most notably Kathryn Newton will be starring alongside Jonas. Her horror credits include the likes of 2012’s “Paranormal Activity 4,” 2020’s “Freaky,” 2024’s “Abigail,” and 2026’s “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.” She has also appeared in the likes of 2017’s “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” 2019’s “Pokémon Detective Pikachu,” and 2023’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” Newton will reprise her role as Cassandra “Cassie” Lang from the latter in this year’s highly anticipated “Avengers: Doomsday” (per IMDb).

Other co-stars for Jonas include KJ Apa (“Riverdale”), Madeleine Arthur (“Devil in Ohio”), Josh Brener (“Silicon Valley”), Ashley Park (“Emily in Paris”), Alexandra Shipp (“Straight Outta Compton”), and Justice Smith (“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”).

It isn’t yet known who any of those actors will be playing in the film.

Nick Jonas Is a Man in Demand

The talented Nick Jonas is a man in demand at the moment. It looks like the rest of 2026 (and beyond) will be an extremely busy time for him.

This year, he will appear in several movies. They are the musical comedy drama “Power Ballad,” the adventure comedy sequel “Jumanji: Open World,” and the musical television movie sequel “Camp Rock 3.”

Additionally, he has several future projects planned. Jonas will star in an as-yet-untitled Netflix rom-com, an as-yet-untitled Jonas Brothers holiday musical, the biographical drama “Shout It Out Loud,” and the action thriller “Bodyman.” He will also play Frankie Valli in a musical taping of “Jersey Boys.”

All of that is, of course, on top of his work on “White Elephant.”

It’s not certain when Eli Craig’s festive horror will hit theaters. However, it’s definitely one to look forward to, regardless, as it sounds fantastic.
