Snoop Dogg ran into an unexpected snafu while in Italy covering the 2026 Winter Olympics for NBC. When the legendary rapper and coach of “The Voice” ordered takeout from a family-owned restaurant, his credit card got declined.

But Snoop, 54, made up for the embarrassing hiccup the next day, giving the family who owns the restaurant free tickets to the Olympics!

While Snoop was in the town of Livigno, where Olympic snowboard and freestyle competitions were taking place, he stopped at a restaurant called Cronox, according to the restaurant owner’s daughter, Sofia Valmade. She told NBC that Snoop ordered a cheeseburger, chicken wings, chicken nuggets, and French fries.

“He sent his staff to take it and pay, but they couldn’t pay,” she said. “I don’t know why, it wasn’t going. So my mother told him that it was okay [to take the food] without paying.”

As a thank you, she said, Snoop surprised the owners with five tickets to the men’s snowboard halfpipe final. Reuters posted an adorable video of Valmade and her friends showing the digital tickets on their cell phones and saying, “Grazie, Snoop!”

Fans flooded social media with hilarious reactions to hearing that Snoop and his team couldn’t pay for a takeout order in Italy, including one who quipped, “Dude forget to tell his credit card company he was traveling abroad lol”

“I’ve had this issue before actually,” another wrote. “The solution was I needed more money in my bank account.”

Many also praised Snoop for paying the family back in such a grandiose way, including one who wrote, “Uncle Snoop doing wholesome things! Love it” and another who commented, “😍😍😍 amazing! What a cool dogg 😁”

Snoop Dogg is Still a Fan-Favorite at the Olympics

Snoop is not only serving as a correspondent for NBC’s Olympic coverage, appearing during NBC’s primetime broadcasts. He’s also an Honorary Coach for Team USA, which the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee announced in December.

Viewers loved the humor and enthusiasm Snoop brought during NBC’s coverage of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, so he was a must-have for the network’s broadcast team this year, too.

He started out on February 4 as an official Olympic torchbearer, carrying the blazing torch through the streets of Gallarate, Italy. The Milano Cortina 2026 website said Snoop’s “presence ignited public enthusiasm and brought the energy of contemporary culture to the Olympic route. ​”

The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper has been making the rounds, going to as many events as possible and dressed to the nines for each. He regularly appears on NBC’s primetime Olympics coverage.
