On April 2, 2026, Jessa Duggar Seewald took to Instagram to release a new statement regarding her 31-year-old brother, Joseph Duggar. In a joint response with her husband, Ben Seewald, the Duggar daughter shared a thoughtful message in her Instagram Stories.
The former reality star began with, “We learned, along with the rest of the world, of the heartbreaking news involving my brother, Joseph, and we are deeply grieved.”
She continued her statement by making it clear where her heart lies, adding, “Our hearts ache for this innocent young girl and the harm she has suffered. This is a profound wrong, and we know it grieves the heart of God, who cares deeply for children and the vulnerable.”
The mother of six concluded, “We are lifting her up in prayer, asking for comfort, healing, and justice.”
Jessa Duggar Seewald Posted an Earlier Statement on Joseph Duggar
Jessa Duggar Seewald’s recent response is not her first regarding her younger brother. As reported by Us Weekly, she initially broke her silence on Joseph Duggar on March 20, 2026.
In the same fashion, the Duggar daughter posted a now-deleted message to her Instagram Stories. The post expressed a similar sentiment, as Jessa wrote, “We learned of this saddening news along with the rest of the world on Wednesday, and we are in complete shock.”
She continued, “Our hearts are grieving for this innocent young girl, and we know this is deeply grievous to God, who cares tenderly for children and the vulnerable. We are keeping her in our prayers.”
Both messages make it clear that Jessa Duggar will stand with the most vulnerable as the situation continues to unfold.
Jessa Duggar Seewald Isn’t the Only Duggar Sibling to Speak Out
Along with Jessa, several of Joseph Duggar’s siblings have publicly responded since the news involving their brother first broke.
Joseph’s younger brother, Jason Duggar, took one of the strongest stances. In a joint statement with his wife, Maddie Duggar, the 25-year-old wrote, “We, like many, have spent the week completely shocked, confused, and grieved to list a few emotions. We are disgusted to hear the news about my brother; however, this isn’t about how it’s impacted our lives.”
Jason continued, “We are angered by what has happened, and we pray God’s righteous hand and the court system will serve justice in the situation as deserved. Maddie and I have always had a special place in our hearts for the vulnerable around us, and we will continue to do so.”
The younger Duggar brother finished out his statement by asking fans to pray for his brother’s children, writing, “We also ask that you pray for his family at this time, as his children must face the reality of losing a father that should have been a spiritual leader in their lives. We stand with innocent children. Always.”
The Duggar Sisters Speak Out on Joseph Duggar Situation
Several of Joseph Duggar’s sisters have also publicly addressed the situation.
On “The Jinger and Jeremy Podcast,” Jinger Vuolo Duggar addressed the situation with her husband, Jeremy Vuolo. She told listeners, “It’s been such a long week. It’s been one of those weeks that feels like years, and I did not think that my heart could break like it has this week. The pain and heartbreak that we’ve had over this, and just thinking of how it’s affected so many. Yeah. It’s just unthinkable.”
Jill Duggar Dillard and her husband, Derick Dillard, shared a statement on their family website, writing, “We strongly condemn abuse. We support the rule of law and hope that justice will be achieved. We pray God gives her strength, comfort, and hope, and that she is able to get all the help and support she needs and deserves in the days ahead.”
Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth addressed the situation on her Instagram Stories, writing, “What has come out about my brother is heartbreaking and deeply disturbing. I have been a wreck this week and am taking time to process. I have a few pre-filmed commitments that I have to post, but I will be taking some much-needed time with my family. Thank you for your prayers.”
