A resurfaced interview is giving fans a new look at how Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke handled their finances during their marriage.
The old comments have gained renewed attention as Batula’s separation from Cooke continues to play out on Bravo’s new spinoff, “In the City,” and amid ongoing questions about why the former couple has not yet finalized their divorce.
Amanda Batula Revealed How She and Kyle Cooke Split Household Expenses
In a clip from the “Trading Secrets” podcast that resurfaced on Instagram via @thebravoinvestigator, Batula explained the arrangement she and Cooke had when it came to paying bills.
“He pays rent and the bills,” Batula said.
She continued, “And then … I’ve decorated the whole apartment, I was making a lot of those big purchases, I do all the food, everything else that’s around the apartment, I’m purchasing. So we sort of work it out that way.”
The interview has taken on new significance after Batula revealed on the premiere episode of “In the City” that she paid Cooke $117,000 to reimburse him for three years of back rent.
The revelation surprised many viewers and sparked fresh discussions about the financial side of the former couple’s relationship.
Cooke has also been candid about financial pressures tied to his beverage company, Loverboy, making money a recurring topic in the conversations surrounding their split.
Amanda Batula Says Divorce Proceedings Have Stalled
The renewed interest in the couple’s finances comes as questions continue about the status of their divorce.
According to Page Six, Batula and Cooke have not yet filed for divorce despite announcing their separation several months ago.
The outlet reported that the former couple is still working through financial matters and other details. Sources also claimed that Cooke wants Batula to be the one who formally initiates the filing process.
Batula addressed the situation during the first episode of the “Summer House” season 10 reunion.
“I’ve attained counsel, and my attorney has reached out to Kyle,” Batula said, “but we haven’t gotten anywhere since then.”
Another factor complicating matters is the fact that Batula and Cooke did not sign a prenuptial agreement before their September 2021 wedding.
The ‘Summer House’ Star and Her New Beau Faced Tough Questions at the Reunion
Batula’s relationship with West Wilson was another major topic during the “Summer House” reunion.
The romance, which became public in March, shocked both viewers and members of the cast due to Wilson’s friendship with Cooke and his previous relationship with Ciara Miller.
During the reunion, Miller challenged Batula’s defense of the relationship.
“Sometimes you can’t help who you like and who you’re attracted to!” Batula said.
“You actually can help it. When you’re married, you actually can help it,” Miller replied.
Batula pushed back.
“I wasn’t married anymore,” she said.
Miller responded, “Legally, you are.”
The exchange quickly became one of the most talked-about moments from the reunion episode.
Kyle Cooke Fires Back at Marriage Rumors
Cooke recently addressed another topic connected to his marriage when he responded to an online conspiracy theory claiming he and Batula were never legally married.
A Threads user suggested there was no public record of the marriage and accused the pair of staging a wedding for Bravo cameras.
Cooke sarcastically dismissed the claim.
“You got me. I’m an actor and faked a $200k wedding in front of my entire family, friends, and the world,” he wrote.
He continued, “The only actor with an MBA, a SBA loan, 2 businesses, and an acquired set of skills that lets me recall my scripted lines from memory when drunk, even blackout. I’m a jack of all trades which is exactly why I’m capable of pulling off such trickery.”
Cooke later shared a photo of himself and Batula signing paperwork at Hillsborough Town Hall.
“Oh wait here’s a pic of us at Hillsborough town hall,” he wrote. “Respectfully, please take off your tinfoil hat.”
Part 2 of the “Summer House” season 10 reunion airs Tuesday on Bravo.
