Andy Cohen has been flaunting his new hairdo, but a fan couldn’t help but liken the fresh cut to that of George Washington. Little did the fan know that not only did Bravo’s Andy himself read the comment, but he also read and responded to it live on his show, “What What Happens Live” earlier this week. The moment was absolutely hilarious.
What Was Said By The Fan and How Did Andy Respond?
On August 13 Bravo star Andy read out a comment from a fan that said: “Andy is giving off a little George Washington with his hair tonight. Gorgeous thick hair but the flip over both ears is giving George Washington.”
But Andy didn’t become at all riled up by the remark. He instead completely agreed with the fan and noted how now the comparison has been pointed out to him like that he “can’t unsee it.”
Getting in on the joke, the show’s production team then pulled up a picture of George Washington on an interactive board behind Andy and placed a photo of him with his new hairdo next to George to really highlight the similarity to anyone watching. Ever the good sport, Andy then pulled a face to try to match the facial expression George was making in the photo, adding in for good measure: “Here is my doppelganger. Let’s see.. Alright, okay, I mean his [hair] is a little less [sleek]… okay, thank you. Thanks for that, guys.”
Fans Reacting to The Response
Fans watching the live moment unfold praised Andy for being a good sport and further agreed with the George Washington comparison.
One user said: “My husband has been saying the same thing!!!”
A second shared: “Love that he is always a good sport. Love his hair long!”
Meanwhile others added “I’m screaming”, “I can’t unsee this now”, and “This era is the best your hair has ever looked. Length, wave pattern, greys – it’s all working.”
Andy Cohen’s program “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” first premiered in July of 2009. The interactive late-night talk show features phone calls from viewer at home, games, and plenty of hilarious banter. Lots of star studded guests also make appearances on the program, from actors and athletes to musicians and reality TV personalities. The show is broadacast from New York in Manhattan’s Clubhouse studio.
Before launching his own show, which became the first late-night interactive talk show in history on Bravo, Andy already had a rather extensive career in the media industry. He started out as an intern at CBS news producing for programs like “48 Hours” and CBS This Morning”. He also served as Bravo’s Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Development, overseeing huge hit shows including “Top Chef”, “Project Runway”, and “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”.
Today alongside his show he also regularly hosts “Real Housewives” reunion programs and co-hosts CNN’s annual “New Year’s Eve Live” broadcast with Anderson Cooper.
