Carl Radke Opens up About Why Fans Won’t See Him on ‘In the City’

On Tuesday, April 7, Bravo released a sneak peek of the “Summer House” spinoff, “In the City,” which sees returning stars Lindsay Hubbard, Kyle Cooke, and Amanda Batula, along with a whole new batch of castmates navigating careers, relationships, and friendships in New York City.

Fans were likely surprised to see Carl Radke missing from the new spinoff. Like Hubbard, Cooke, and Batula, Radke was an original cast member on “Summer House.” Viewers would have really enjoyed seeing him working at his Brooklyn hot spot, Soft Bar, and possibly even exploring a new chapter in his love life.

In January, “Summer House” star Carl Radke sat down with Morgan Paige for her “Morgan Pop Talks” podcast, where he explained why he was not asked to join the main cast of “In the City.”

“Listen, they were really focused, it seemed like on the next chapter. You’re married, a child, you know, whatever’s going on, and less single people,” Radke began.

He continued, “That wasn’t necessarily where I fit in at that point. Yes, launching a business in Brooklyn, all those things might be interesting, but who knows, if there’s a season two, I would love to be a part of it.”

The reality star shared that even if he doesn’t appear on a second season, he will still be rooting for his castmates and real-life friends.

“I’m so proud to be a part of this network, I love ‘Summer House,’ I love my group of friends,” he said, adding, “I’ve been very lucky to be a part of a group that brings it.”

Despite not reuniting with his castmates for “In the City,” Radke admitted that he still had another season of “Summer House” in him.

The sneak peek of “In the City” revealed that “Summer House” alums Danielle Olivera and Andrea Denver would be returning. Olivera first appeared as a main cast member in season 2 and went on to appear in every season thereafter in varying roles. Meanwhile, Denver was a main cast member in season 6 before returning in a reduced capacity for seasons 7-8.

According to Bravo, Olivera returns to our screens “madly in love” with her boyfriend Eoin Heavey. “Now living together, they’re navigating their fast-paced love story with the demands of building Eoin’s hotel tech startup, Maitre,” her official bio reads.

As for Denver, he returns with his wife, Lexi Sundin, to New York City after months of traveling, as the couple navigates what their future will look like, including whether they want to make Italy their permanent home.

Fans will also get a closer look at Cooke and Batula’s marital struggles, and Hubbard embracing life as a single mom.

“In the City” premieres on Tuesday, May 19, on Bravo.
