“Summer House” star Carl Radke recently opened up about his relationship with ex-fiancée Lindsay Hubbard, sharing a surprisingly cordial moment between the two despite their well-documented breakup.
In a Wednesday, September 24, appearance on Page Six Radio, Radke revealed that Hubbard visited his new non-alcoholic bar-and-café, Soft Bar, which he admits felt meaningful to him.
“When she took it in, I think she was like, ‘Wow. It’s actually here.’ So she was there, which was really sweet of her to stop by,” he told the hosts.
Radke added he was touched that she made the effort to see his new venture.
“I was honored that she would take the time and come, given everything that’s happened between us,” he said. “It was just cool to see that.”
While the two were engaged, Hubbard famously told Radke she wasn’t a fan of the idea of him opening a non-alcoholic bar during an episode of season 8 of “Summer House.”
“Sorry, I’m gonna have to say no to that one,” she said at the time. “Working in the hospitality industry my entire life, representing every single lounge, bar, club, hotel, restaurant … I don’t want that for our future family.”
Radke Says They Are Better Post-Split
While Radke acknowledged that they’re each moving in different directions—both personally and publicly—he expressed that things between them are better than they were after the split.
He emphasized a sense of mutual respect, citing shared history and connections.
“There’s so many mutual connections and friends,” Radke said. “There’s so much history, and I would find myself even laughing at stuff from the past with her at times. But we are taking the right step forward, I think, and just kind of going one day at a time.”
Radke and Hubbard’s breakup played out dramatically on Season 8 of “Summer House.”
They were engaged in 2022, but the engagement ended amid tension and strongly emotional fallout that was televised.
Since then, the two have each pursued new chapters in life. Hubbard welcomed a daughter, Gemma, in December 2024 with Turner Kufe, while Radke has focused in part on his new venture with Soft Bar.
Soft Bar Opens
Soft Bar opened on September 17 in Brooklyn, New York.
Before the official opening date, Radke had a soft opening, which some of the “Summer House” cast members attended to support the new business.
Visitors included Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, Jesse Soloman, Ciara Miller, and West Wilson.
“Soft Bar is really about changing what going out can be,” Radke told PEOPLE. “We wanted to build a spot where the drinks are high-quality and intentionally crafted, the vibe feels good, and people can connect without alcohol. At the end of the day, it’s about bringing people together and celebrating great flavors.”
