Bravo heartthrob Craig Conover is moving beyond reality television with a new role in an independent movie. The longtime “Southern Charm” personality has joined the cast of “Caroline Fletcher,” a dramedy directed by Ellyn Vander Wyden. Production has already wrapped in Massachusetts, The Hollywood Reporter reported on Friday, August 7.
BravoDetails about Conover’s character have not been revealed. The project places him alongside several established comedy and television performers, marking a notable expansion of his career outside the Bravo world.
Vander Wyden is an Emmy-nominated producer and filmmaker whose previous work spans independent movies, documentaries and television productions, according to her official website.
What Is ‘Caroline Fletcher’ About?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daniel Blum wrote that “Caroline Fletcher” centers on a resourceful 11-year-old girl growing up around financial hardship and crime. Conning people has become her way of surviving. Her circumstances become even more precarious after her mother is arrested and a local bully threatens the family she has left. With few adults she can trust, the girl begins planning the most ambitious scheme she has ever attempted.
The story blends family drama with comedy and crime, placing a young character at the center of a world where quick thinking can be the difference between losing everything and finding a way forward. A release date has not yet been announced.

Caroline Aaron, who played Shirley Maisel on “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” has also joined the ensemble. The cast additionally features Drew Van Acker, Katrina Bowden and newcomer Kayla Anjali.

For Conover, the project presents an opportunity to work inside a scripted ensemble after spending more than a decade sharing his personal and professional life with Bravo viewers.
He has appeared on “Southern Charm” since its 2014 debut and has also crossed over into shows including “Summer House” and “Winter House.”
Conover’s movie role arrives as he continues to focus on his Charleston-based home goods company, Sewing Down South, and repair relationships strained during his years in reality television.
During an August 3 appearance on the “Good Guys” podcast, Conover discussed reconciling with “Summer House” star Kyle Cooke after their highly publicized disagreements.
“I didn’t realize I only related forgiving people to those I thought deserved forgiveness,” he explained. “And Kyle was the first person who was a challenge to me, who I never thought I’d speak to again, because I thought there were things that happened that were unforgivable.”
Conover said Cooke’s decision to attend an event at Sewing Down South helped change their dynamic. The two are now on better terms, with Conover simply telling the podcast hosts, “We’re good,” according to Bravo.
Between his growing business, renewed friendship, and first newly announced indie movie role, Conover appears ready to show audiences a different side of himself.
