Amanda Batula and West Wilson didn’t leave fans guessing for too long as the “Summer House’ stars confirmed their romance after rumors began circulating. Specifically, Batula shared a long statement on her Instagram story announcing the news.
But some Bravo fans still aren’t completely convinced.
And much of that is because there happens to be a very interested holiday this week.
Fans Express Their Belief That This Is An April Fools Joke
Getty“Is this whole Amanda/West thing going to be a big April fools joke…? #SummerHouse,” one person posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“If this #SummerHouse scandal between Amanda+West+Ciara turns out to be an April Fools Prank then I’m gonna be PISSED,” another person shared.
“I have a feeling this #SummerHouse thing is just a promotion for #InTheCity in which Amanda and some Summer House cast would appear. Or on really good April Fools prank!,” someone commented.
“There’s a rumor floating around that the #SummerHouse West/Ciara/Amanda drama might just be an elaborate April Fools joke…and if that ends up being true, I will absolutely lose my mind,” one fan said.
“West and Amanda, why would you do this to me? I’m not even a Ciara fan but come on… pls say April fools,” another fan writes.

“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity. It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it,” they began.
“We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care,” they continued. “As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling. We also recognize this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless.”
“We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this time,” Batula and West concluded.
