Kristen Doute is giving fans an update after a frightening few days with her young daughter.
“The Valley” star revealed that her daughter, Kaia, needed emergency medical care twice this week after developing a high fever. Doute shares Kaia with her fiancé, Luke Broderick.
Doute first alerted followers to the health scare on Monday, Aug. 17, sharing a photo of Kaia resting after an emergency room visit.
Doute Reveals Her Daughter Went to the ER Twice
“Little angel had a super high temp last night and we took her to the ER. this is the scariest part of being a mama 🙏🏼,” Doute wrote on her Instagram Stories.
Unfortunately, the situation required another trip to the hospital the following day.
On Tuesday, Aug. 18, Doute shared another update from the emergency room, revealing that doctors had determined what was making her daughter sick.
“another day, another ER visit 😢 poor little thing has a UTI glad we trusted our gut and went SO happy she’s finally safe & asleep,” she wrote.
Doute also posted a photo of herself while at the hospital with Kaia, giving followers a glimpse at the difficult stretch for the family.
The reality star has frequently shared glimpses of her daughter’s life since Kaia was born in June 2025.
Donte’s Daughter Just Celebrated First Birthday
Earlier this summer, Doute celebrated her little girl reaching her first birthday and reflected on how quickly the past year had gone.
“Luke and I feel like we are finally out of survival mode and can truly enjoy Kaia now, celebrating all her little milestones,” Doute told PEOPLE around the time of the celebration. “She’s getting ready to walk, she has six teeth, she is so smart and inventive. I’m just in awe of how curious she is and how she tries to figure out every little thing.”
Doute also opened up about the elaborate birthday celebration, which was planned with help from her friend and fellow Bravo star Brittany Cartwright.
“Britt threw my baby shower for me, and so when I asked if she could also throw Kaia’s birthday, she said she would love nothing more,” Doute explained. “It was her party planner, and from day one she was sitting with me going through my Pinterest and hand-selecting every detail.”
One of the biggest moments of the celebration was Kaia’s first birthday cake. Doute admitted she had wondered whether her daughter would actually enjoy the traditional smash cake experience.
“I’ve heard so many parents talk about the smash cake and how their kids were just not into them, so I was really looking forward to seeing how Kaia would act,” she said.
Kaia apparently had no hesitation.
“She was like, ‘Let’s get down!’” Doute recalled. “That truly was my favorite part of the day, along with all my friends who brought their kids to swim and to just celebrate Kaia. It was such a sweet day.”
Since Kaia’s birth, Doute has continued documenting many of her daughter’s milestones and sharing sweet family moments with her followers.
Now, however, the focus is on getting Kaia healthy again.
For the moment, the reality star is staying close to her little girl as Kaia rests and recovers.
