Kyle Cooke defended his ex-wife Amanda Batula at the “Summer House” reunion after Ciara Miller made a comment about her that he felt went too far.
Two months after Batula’s romantic relationship with co-star West Wilson was publicly confirmed, their exes Cooke and Miller faced them for the first time together at the Bravo reality show’s Season 10 reunion.
Near the end of the May 26 broadcast, Miller said she thought the new couple might actually last, but her reason for the prediction was a bit of a dig at both of them.
“I honestly think that the best, like, woman for West is, like, someone who’s not gonna check him on anything, and that’s totally Amanda,” Miller said. “She’s very mute. She’s gonna be that weak figure that he needs, and he can always be the star in the relationship. So, I actually think, like, maybe it could work.”
Cooke, who was seated next to Miller, whispered to her, “That was a little harsh.”
“That’s your wife, she’s not my wife,” Miller replied, to which Cooke told her, “You have every right to feel the way you feel. But even that was hard for me to hear.”

BravoCooke and Batula are not yet divorced, but they announced their separation in early 2026. After his wife of four years confirmed she was in a new relationship with Wilson, Cooke was notably upset, but he also asked fans to ease up on his ex.
“I know people are like, ‘Why are you sticking up for her? Why are you defending her?’ I’m not. I’m just trying to be there for her,” Cooke explained on the May 19 episode of “Watch What Happens Live.” “No matter what, I still care for her. There’s still a lot of love. I spent literally 10 years [with her]. I’m not excusing her behavior. Even when the writing was on the wall, there’s still love.”

Cooke and Bartula wed in New Jersey in September 2021 with Bravo’s cameras on hand. But there have been conspiracy theories that the couple never legally married.
On May 25, Cooke responded to a now-deleted comment on Threads that speculated that his marriage to Batula was all an act.
“You got me,” the Loverboy founder wrote. “The only actor with a MBA, a SBA loan, 2 businesses, and an acquired set of skills that lets me recall my scripted lines from memory when drunk, even blackout. I’m a jack of all trades which is exactly why I’m capable of pulling off such trickery.”
“Oh wait, here’s a pic of us at Hillsborough town hall,” Cooke added of a photo of him and Batula signing a marriage certificate at a town hall in New Jersey. “Respectfully, please take off your tinfoil hat.”
Cooke and Batula did have one “fake” wedding ceremony on “Summer House” after their original nuptials were postponed due to the COVID pandemic. The Hamptons housemates gathered to celebrate the couple, months before they legally wed, in a faux ceremony that included Carl Radke as the best man and Paige DeSorbo as a bridesmaid.
At the time, Batula said on the “Summer House After Show, “It felt so nice that our friends were willing and excited to do this for us and celebrate us because we were so happy. We are still so happy.”
