Kyle Cooke Makes Surprising Admission About the Emotional ‘Summer House’ Reunion

Kyle Cooke opened up about the emotional ”Summer House” reunion taping that took place after his estranged wife, Amanda Batula, and his former close friend, West Wilson, confirmed their secret romantic relationship. During a May 19 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” Cooke, who has been protective of his ex, admitted that he was “absolutely” relieved to not be the one in the hot seat at the reunion after filming a “Summer House” season that showed him at his breaking point.

“I will stand by the fact that I am a flawed person. I have many regrettable moments,” Cooke said to host Andy Cohen. “I think that, like I think people are looking at things through a different lens [at the reunion]. …[I was] absolutely [relieved to be out of the hot seat]. It’s a bittersweet situation together. It sucks. But yes, it’s great because I thought I was going to have to wait a year to record more TV and be like ‘I am so sorry.’”

Cooke also confirmed he did not storm off the Bravo stage during the reunion taping.

Kyle Cooke Considered Running After Amanda Batula When She Became Upset at the Reunion

Cooke, who was with Batula for more than 10 years before their split, also revealed that he still has a lot of love for his ex and feels protective of her amid the backlash she is receiving. On WWHL, he explained that he was struggling with that during the reunion taping, especially during an emotional moment when an upset Batula exited the stage.

“I mean, in the preview, I thought they were going to let it run to the point where I got up, and I was like, should I go after her when West didn’t?” Cooke shared. “I mean, it was hectic, it was emotional. It was tough.“

The Loverboy founder also admitted that while he knew Batula and Wilson would leave the reunion together, it still felt weird to see it happen.

“I knew they were going to leave together, but it just I’m not going to lie, it’s still so surreal,” he told Cohen “Like, I saw her last night. We actually had a good couple of laughs, but when I think about them together, like when I saw the preview today where they when he when he kissed her, I’m just like…. I’ve seen him kiss a lot of things.”

Kyle Cooke Is Getting Ready to Talk to West Wilson One-on-One

Elsewhere during the WWHL appearance, Cooke confirmed he recently sent Wilson a long voice note.

“One thing I made clear, I was like, I will never ever say that I will not film with someone,” he revealed. “I’m not trying to ruin your career. I’m not trying to ruin your reputation. …So, I wanted to make it clear that I’m like, look, we will hash this out at some point. I’m not ready right now, but at some point, I’d love to have a convo.”

“Rumor has it tomorrow,” he added of the timeframe for the chat.

While Cooke noted that Wilson hasn’t had a lasting relationship “in his entire adult life,” he reiterated that he still has a lot of love for Batula.

“I mean, I know people are like, ‘Why are you sticking up for her? Why are you defending her?’” Cooke said. “I’m not. I’m just trying to be there for her no matter what. I still care for her. There’s still a lot of love. I spent literally 10 years [with her]. I’m not excusing her behavior.”

“Even when the writing was on the wall, there’s still love,” the “Summer House” star said.
