‘Summer House’ Star Reveals She Turned Down Major Reality Competition

Paige DeSorbo was invited to join the cast of “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test,” but she turned the offer down flat.

In September 2025, the former ”Summer House” star spoke out during a panel at Byrdie Social Club in New York City and admitted she was “mad” when she got the call for the Fox reality competition.

The fourth season of “Special Forces” featured four Bravo stars: “Real Housewives” alums Teresa Giudice, Gia Giudice,  and Eva Marcille and “The Valley” star Brittany Cartwright. Cartwright was the first contestant eliminated from the competition on the premiere episode on Sept. 25.

Paige DeSorbo’s Reaction to the ‘Special Forces’ Invite Was ‘Are You Guys Kidding Me?’

DeSorbo, 32,  had no interest in joining “Special Forces,” which features a group of celebrity contestants competing in intense military-style training challenges. When she got the call to do the show, she was stunned.

“I’m like, ‘Are you guys kidding me?’ I was just so mad to get called for it,” DeSorbo said at the panel event, according to People magazine. “I was like, ‘What about me thinks that I would do that show?’”

The reality star and influencer, who was known for spending much of her time on “Summer House” lounging in bed, noted that a competition show such as “British Bake Off” would be more her speed. “I think if I practice, I could win,” she said. “Give me some fondant, I think I could do it. I feel I could do it.”

In 2025, DeSorbo announced her exit from “Summer House” months after splitting from her longtime boyfriend, “Southern Charm” star Craig Conover.

During an Amazon Livestream, the Bravo TV star made it clear she had no interest in ever joining a dating show like “The Bachelor.”

“Never in my life,” she said. “I would literally have to take seven beta-blockers. Are you kidding? That would be torturous. And I don’t think I could ever be ‘The Bachelorette.’ Because it’s like, 20 straight men in one room is my literal nightmare. I would start crying.”

She also shut down the idea of competition shows such as “The Traitors,” which has featured many Bravo stars in the past, including her “Summer House” bestie Ciara Miller.

“I am so competitive. I’d crush ‘Traitors,’” DeSorbo said in a May 2025 interview with Elite Daily. But she added, “I don’t want to do the challenges. Wake up and do this scavenger hunt? Absolutely not. Are you kidding? No. I’m not running in a field.”
