Sarah Paulson appeared on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen to promote her new Hulu series, “All’s Fair.” While on the show, he asked her to share a memory of the dearly departed Diane Keaton, with whom she had worked early in her career.
Paulson began, “I have a lot of them.” The first thing she said was that Keaton always gave her the “most incredible advice” about her career.
She then said, “But the thing that was most amazing about Diane was every time we would go to dinner, when the meal was finished, she would get up and she would ask to go to the kitchen and she would give cash to all the busboys.”
Paulson then emphasized that it was all the busboys in the restaurant, and that she did this at “every restaurant” they had ever visited.
Paulson and Keaton Had a Long History
She and Keaton shared the screen for 1999’s “The Other Sister.” They played mother and daughter in the film and maintained a lifelong friendship in the decades that followed. Sadly, Keaton passed away at the age of 79 on October 11, 2025.
Days later, she spoke to Access Hollywood while promoting “All’s Fair.” She said of her dear friend, “She was a very dear friend of mine, so it’s not something I’m able to talk about yet. What you thought she was as a performer, she was even more spectacular as a human being. And I was the luckiest person in the world to have had her in my life they way that I did.”
Paulson said in other interviews that she was deeply saddened by the passing of Keaton. She also spoke about the friendship they had and how profoundly it had changed her.
Her New Series Recently Premiered
Paulson is helping to carry on Keaton’s legacy through her work. Her latest project, “All’s Fair,” premiered on Hulu on November 4. The series is produced by her frequent collaborator, Ryan Murphy. In additon to Paulson, it stars Kim Kardashian, Glenn Close, Niecy Nash, Teyana Taylor, and Naomi Watts.
That’s not all; according to Entertainment Weekly, Paulson has signed on to star in season 13 of “American Horror Story.” Notably, she hasn’t been on the series since 2021’s “Double Feature” season.
It’s unclear what the premise of the new season will be, but it’s expected to be released near Halloween 2026. Jessica Lange, with whom Paulson appeared in earlier seasons of the show, is also returning.
