Dispatch Audio Captures Heartbreaking Aftermath of the Loss of West Wilson’s Dear Grandmother

Bravo star West Wilson, who has appeared on “Summer House” since season 8, had a heartbreaking day on Wednesday, April 22 when his step-grandmother was shockingly killed and his cousin, Dakota Sweeney, was arrested and charged with her murder. The very next time, filming of the “Summer House” reunion took place, which West was in attendance for. TMZ reported on the tragedy early Wednesday afternoon.

Now, TMZ has obtained dispatch audio from the moments immediately following the emergency as police were called to the scene.

On the communications, a dispatcher can be heard referencing a “possible shooting” and asking for standby as two officers “go inside.” She then tells her colleagues to “be advised what we’re hearing is that it’s possible the suspect shot his mother-in-law.”

Another voice asks, “Is he on the scene” before someone replies, “Still on the scene.” Someone else jumps in to say, “Be advised, we did not know. We were on the phone with a third person who was not there, and he disconnected the call.

It turned out the victim was identified as Sweeney’s step-grandmother, Gayle R. Wilson. West’s father, Bruce, and Dakota’s mother, Kelly, are both Gayle’s stepchildren.

What We Know About the Shooting of West Wilson’s Grandmother

The incident happened in Carroll County, Missouri, where TMZ says law enforcement responded to reports of a shooting and found the 75-year-old grandmother deceased at a residence.

The outlet notes that a probable cause statement alleges Dakota was sitting in a room with his grandmother for 30 minutes before shooting her with a handgun.

The report says officers also stated they were told by a witness that the pair had argued about household chores earlier in the evening. Officers also say they located a holster on Dakota’s person after taking him into custody, TMZ says the statement indicates.

Dakota was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree murder. TMZ says West has not responded to their requests for comment.

Fans Call for Compassion Following West Wilson’s Family Tragedy

In the comments of a post about the shooting on a bravo fan page called Bravo Breaking News by Kim, fans are calling for empathy toward West despite the recent backlash he’s been receiving for dating Amanda Batula, who is the former best friend of his ex-girlfriend, Ciara Miller.

One fan wrote, “Reminder that we can dislike something that someone has done but also show empathy in situations like this. So sorry for the families loss.”

Another weighed in to say they were “so sorry” for the loss of Gayle Wilson, and pointed out “it has nothing to do with West.”

In a recent development on April 25, TMZ reported they were told by sources with information on the “Summer House” reunion that Amanda joked about the joint statement she and West released and said it was written by ChatGPT.

The outlet reports West and Amanda left the reunion together.

Their decision to pair up caused shockwaves throughout the fandom, even causing known Bravo watcher Rihanna to unfollow Amanda after the news broke.
