Country Singer Shares Devastating Health Update 1 Month After Near-Fatal Crash

J.D. Graham is sharing a hopeful update as he continues his recovery following a serious interstate crash. One month after the accident, the country singer took to social media to share his progress and express gratitude for the support he has received.

‘The Healing Is Going Slow’: Inside His Recovery

“It’s been a month since the accident,” he wrote.

“Thank you to everyone that has donated their time and hearts to my cause. I’m truly grateful for everyone’s continued generosity. It has taken a giant burden off of me and my wife and there’s no way we could do this without you folks.”

Graham shared that while recovery has been challenging, he is seeing gradual improvement.

“The healing is going slow, but it’s going,” he wrote. “There are still a lot of things I can’t do, but I’m making progress every day.”

He also opened up about the emotional toll of slowing down after the accident.

“It’s always been difficult for me to slow down even when I’m supposed to and I’m coming to terms with that move every day. There is a mental component to this that caught me completely off guard and it sucks. I’ve never been good at sitting still.”

Serious Injuries and Ongoing Treatment

Graham clarified details about his injuries, explaining the extent of the damage caused by the crash.

“I did not break my back,” he wrote. “I broke my back and a bunch of ribs. I got some new pars. My thoracic spine has been rebuilt with 14 screws and some titanium rods (T1-T7). My spinal cord was damaged and was leaking fluid and now has a patch.”

He added that he is currently able to walk and is wearing a brace full-time as part of his recovery.

“I am able to walk OK at this point and I am into a CTO brace 24-7 for up to 12 weeks.”

Family Support and Gratitude

Throughout his recovery, Graham credited his family for helping him through the ordeal.

Graham said his wife and daughters “deserve a trophy” for everything they have done, adding that their support has been a source of strength.

“It’s painful but I remain optimistic and grateful to still be here by the grace of God.”

Tour Cancellations & Uncertain Future

The accident has forced Graham to step away from touring as he focuses on healing.

“I am out of the hospital and have an extremely long recovery,” he wrote. “I’m honestly not sure if/when I can get back to touring and connecting with you lovely folks as my future looks so different.”

He confirmed that upcoming European shows and U.S. tour dates through May have been canceled.

“At which time I will reassess what I am able to do,” he wrote. “I have to take this day by day and I’m not sure yet what that looks like.”

Crash Details & Ongoing Support

Graham’s daughter previously shared details of the crash, describing it as both severe and life-threatening.

“My dad, Jeremy Graham, was involved in a very serious accident on the interstate,” she wrote in a GoFundMe campaign. “He was hit by one semi and then slammed into another. The crash was severe, and first responders had to cut him out of his vehicle.”

Despite the long road ahead, Graham remains focused on healing and eventually returning to what he loves.

“I will eventually heal from this and get back to chasing my dreams,” he wrote. “I’m just not sure when.”

He also shared a message that reflected his perspective after the accident.

“Please hug your friends and family and tell them how much you love them because tomorrow is not promised.”
