Corey Feldman’s “Dancing with the Stars” journey on Season 34 did not last long, and he and professional partner Jenna Johnson were eliminated in Week 2. He didn’t have time to really improve his dancing skills or make the most of his experience, but Feldman is now reflecting on his time on the show and the harsh comments he faced from a former DWTS alum.
Corey Feldman Reacts to Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s Comments
Feldman liked the people who competed with him. What he didn’t like was the backlash and drama he faced. “There was a lot of stupidity in the mudslinging that went on behind the scenes,” Feldman said in an episode of “Guvery’s Law Radio Show,” Daily Mail reports. The interview will air on Sunday, November 23, at 7 p.m. ET.
In the interview, the ‘80s star also addressed the harsh comments former professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy made about him when he commented on what it was like for Johnson to work with Feldman in an earlier interview with the Daily Mail. This new radio show was Feldman’s opportunity to react to these comments.
“On the set everybody gets along,” he shared. “Everybody’s great. Everybody’s happy. You’re working hard. You don’t even have time to look up. You’re just working. But then it’s like you start reading these things in the paper, like, ‘this person’s mad at this person. These people aren’t talking to each other.’ Or ‘are people working hard enough?’ ‘Corey Feldman destroyed the show. He destroyed the whole show because he was such an egomaniac it’s so difficult to work with.”
Did Jenna Johnson Agree?
These were not comments Feldman could brush off, and he revealed how he had addressed his concerns with Johnson. “And then you’re like, where is this coming from? And I asked Jen, ‘I’m like, where is this coming from?’ She’s like, ‘oh, it’s just Max.’ She rolls her eyes. She’s like, ‘oh it’s just Max. Don’t pay attention to him. He just wants attention.’ I was like oh my God.’”
Johnson is married to Maksim’s brother, Val Chmerkovskiy. Val is currently competing on Season 34 alongside social media influencer Alix Earle. It is also not the first time this season that Maks, who is not on the show, has criticized someone who was. He made harsh comments about Jan Ravnik’s debut season, but the new pro addressed his comments like an absolute champ, instead choosing to focus on the positives.
