As first-time parents, Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, have a lot to be thankful for. Not only did they welcome a healthy baby girl, whom they named Everley Capri, but their love for each other has grown since that special day — according to the Emmy Award winner.
In a new interview with Parade, Hough gushed over how he feels even stronger about his love for Erbert as he watches her revel in being a new mom to Everley, who was born on December 29, 2025.

Getty“I don’t think anything really surprised me,” he shared of if anything changed in their marriage since welcoming their first child together. “I think I’m just more in love with my wife. That’s not surprising, but I think it’s definitely something I feel. It’s a beautiful thing to witness.”
As the ’26 New Year rang, Hough shared a throwback on his Instagram of his favorite moments of 2025, where he captioned a similar sentiment of how he and Erbert’s new addition to their family would bring forth an unexpected love from within.
“A year of true transformation. A year where the heart cracks open and love pours in, in entirely new ways,” the professional dancer wrote.
The successful birth of their first child was more than just a blessing for Hough and Erbert, who revealed in October 2025 that they experienced a miscarriage together shortly before learning they were pregnant with their rainbow baby.
Having suffered the unforgettable loss, it comes as no surprise why Hough has fallen even more in love with Erbert, who gets to be everything she was prepared to be before that part of their lives was cut short.

To celebrate the birth of Everley, Erbert shared a sweet moment between herself and their newborn girl on Instagram just two weeks after she was born — a moment that held a significance far deeper than anyone but she and Hough would understand.
“Two weeks with my greatest love,” she captioned her post, featuring a photo of Everley’s hand reaching toward Erbert’s necklace with “D” and “E” pendant letters.
Although Hough and Erbert are busy embracing their lives as new parents, Hough took time away to enjoy the 83rd Annual Golden Globes. While his wife didn’t attend, Hough was the belle of the ball, as many stars congratulated him on the red carpet for his and Erbert’s growing family.
