“The Bachelorette” star Hannah Brown went on to win “Dancing With the Stars” season 28 along with her pro dance partner, Alan Bersten. The duo reunited at the first-ever DWTS convention in Palm Springs, California this summer.
Even though it’s been quite some time since Hannah Brown put on her ballroom shoes, she gleefully participated and performed for crowds of adoring fans.
The reality star graciously took time out of her busy schedule to tell EntertainmentNow editor Lauren Weigle about the convention and describe what it was like to get back on the dance floor.
Hannah Brown Felt Elated to Be Part of the DWTS Convention
Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten won the Mirrorball trophy in 2019. While speaking to EntertainmentNow, the 31-year-old revealed that it was the last time she tried ballroom dancing. Nevertheless, she felt excited to step back into the ballroom.
“I had a blast,” Hannah told us about the DWTS convention. “It has been seven years since I was on ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ Being able to come back and celebrate this special show that I was able to be a part of and just have a little glimpse back into that experience was so fun for me.”
“I was able to meet some fans, I did a panel with other Mirrorball champions and was also able to dance a little bit again,” “The Bachelorette” star continued, noting how much fun she had. “It is incredible to be around those pros on that show. They are a different breed of an athlete. I was in so many rehearsals with my mouth open just being like, ‘Oh my gosh, you are so good.’”
Hannah Brown noted that she felt honored to be able to dance alongside the pros and she didn’t take the opportunity lightly.
“I was definitely rusty but it felt great to be back,” she told us.
The Reality Star Describes Preparing For Her Performances
Hannah Brown was over the moon to meet her fans. As the season 28 champion, she felt proud to perform as well.
“I was able to do a couple of dances while I was there,” Hannah continued. “One of them, I got to re-perform one of my dances from the season. It was a Viennese Waltz to ‘Lover’ by Taylor Swift. I just love that I got to dance to one of her songs.”
After all this time, “The Bachelorette” star shared she surprisingly remembered some of the choreography.
“That just shows how we drill it into ourselves because there’s so much pressure,” she added, noting that she wasn’t quite sure she did the technique properly.
“The other dance that I had to do was a jive and I never did a jive on my season of ‘Dancing With the Stars,'” Hannah remembered, noting that Alan Bersten was trying to help her get through the choreography. “It was a really simple routine but I didn’t know any of the technique.”
After experiencing the competition and the convention, Hannah Brown is continuously in awe of the pro dancers.
“Like I said those dancers are so incredible,” she told us. “They did a full show. Like a full tour performance where they were in like 14 different numbers.”
“Dancing With the Stars” season 35 kicks off at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15 on ABC. There will be a second episode the next night on Wednesday, September 16.
The full cast will be revealed on “Good Morning America” on Wednesday, September 2.
