Hannah Brown Tells EntertainmentNow About Her Family Planning Advocacy

Reality television sensation Hannah Brown is well-loved by fans. She’s always looking for her next big project and hoping to create something new and exciting to share with the world.

But at the same time, the “Dancing With the Stars” champion understands she has a large platform. She wants to use her voice to advocate for causes that truly matter to her, not simply what is popular at the time.

Now, she’s opening up about her advocacy for family planning and what that looks like.

Hannah Brown’s New Short Story Discusses Family Planning Options

Hannah Brown recently spoke with EntertainmentNow editor Lauren Weigle about her birth control advocacy. Above all else, the reality star wants to use her platform to discuss important topics, including the power of choice.

In her new short story, “Lessons in Love and Ballroom,” the 31-year-old dove into her character’s decision to explore birth control options. She noticed it wasn’t something that romance novels typically discussed, but felt it was important to do so.

“Lessons in Love and Ballroom” follows a dancer, Isabel, who once competed on a popular dance show but was forced into retirement after injuries. After returning home, she develops a love interest as she considers her future.

“Everything that I’ve put out so far as an author, it’s really important to have authentic conversations,” Hannah Brown told us. She shared how birth control was a perfectly normal topic for adult women to discuss.

“I wanted to make that normalized and for other women to see real conversations in fiction,” the writer continued. “It was fun to be able to use Isabel’s situation to show real authentic conversations with her friend that she has about planning for her life and conversations she’s had with her doctor about what’s right for her. And for her, she’s not exactly ready for that. She has more ambition and hopes.”

The Reality Star Wants Her Future Projects to Align With Her Values

When asked if she would ever like to host her very own reality show, Hannah Brown had a very thought-provoking response. She noted that she would “never say never,” but acknowledged it needed to align with her values and this season of life.

“I feel really honored with the platform that I have. But with that I feel the responsibility to really show how I’ve grown and talk about important things,” she told us.

“Even with this, this opportunity to partner with Organon, with Nexplanon, it fits into the season of life that I’m in and having those important conversations about, ‘What do I want for my life? If and when I wanna have children, what does that look like?'” Hannah added.

“The Bachelorette” star went on to say that birth control and family planning needed to be a conversation that everyone was having. Above all else, she wants to advocate for women to have smart conversations with their healthcare providers and really think about the choices they have.

Brown has collaborated with Organon, maker of NEXPLANON®, to help women to know their birth control options. Her short story is now available at nexplanon.com/hannahbrown
