Mark Ballas Celebrates His Wife
Ballas shared a video on Instagram on December 2, showing himself and Jean getting ready for a date. She can be seen doing her hair and carrying around a large bouquet of red roses. In the video’s text overlay, he explains that last week was their anniversary. At the time, they didn’t have a chance to celebrate. However, this video was a way to celebrate his wife, and it gave fans a glimpse into their love and their sweet anniversary plans.
“I’m taking this beautiful girl out to a surprise dinner just us,” Ballas wrote. In the clip, Ballas also compliments Jean for being “so pretty” and thanks her for the “love and support” she shows him.
“These 9 years with you have been the best of my life,” he wrote. The pair then arrives at Nobu and, before going into the restaurant, leaves their phones in the car to enjoy some one-on-one time, totally undistracted. In the caption, Ballas wrote only “9.”
The post has attracted a lot of attention from fans and loved ones, including Jean, who reacted with a sweet message. “I love you husband,” she wrote.
The song featured in the video is by Travis Garland. The musician reacted to its use in the post. “10/10 song choice. Wrote it for exactly this sort of occasion happy anniversary, love you guys,” he shared.

Ballas and Jean have been dating since 2012 and got married in 2016. They share one child, a son, Banksi, who was born in 2023. Jean is a talented singer-songwriter who has penned big hits, including Beyoncé’s “If I Were A Boy.”
“I wrote from such personal experiences, I never imagined that someone else would ever want to sing about my ex-boyfriend!” BC Jean told Songwriting Magazine in an interview in 2019. “So I was like, ‘Tell her, thank you,’ but they were like, ‘No, you don’t understand, she has to have this song!’ Then I got lots of calls from lots of people being very, very persuasive, and the next thing I know, Beyoncé is singing the song, and I’m getting signed to Clive Davis’ label, J Records.”
