Beloved actress and former “Dancing with the Stars” Season 9 contestant Melissa Joan Hart looked incredible in a silver sequined gown when she attended the 7th Annual Jam for Janie Grammy viewing party event on February 1. She posed for photos on the red carpet and also had photo opportunities with Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler.
Fans may have noticed that her appearance is slightly different because she recently lost 18 Lbs, made dietary changes, and she feels great.
Melissa Joan Hart Discusses Weight Loss
GettyTo achieve her weight loss, the actress made changes to her diet, including cutting out sugar and alcohol. She shared details in an interview with People, published on February 2. “I actually feel stronger and better than I have in a really long time,” Hart told People at the event benefiting Tyler’s Janie’s Fund. The fund is established to assist “neglected and abused girls,” People reports.
Hart told the publication that she has been working “really hard” to achieve better health. “I just wanted to feel better,” she said. “It had nothing to do with losing weight. I really didn’t think I could lose weight anymore, being in midlife and perimenopause and all those things, I was like, ‘Can I really lose weight? I don’t think I can.’”

GettyHart’s initial goal may not have been to lose weight, but it was a side effect of her dietary changes. “I lost about 18 pounds last year,” Hart said. She achieved this by “discovering fasting and cutting sugars and cutting alcohol.” She also revealed that she has not had a drink in a year, not that she had been a big drinker to start. “I just don’t even enjoy drinking. So why bother? So I cut these things out of my life, and I started to feel better. And in doing that, I lost a lot of weight and kind of feel great,” she shared.

Hart posted photos of herself at the event on Instagram. In the caption, she raised awareness for the brilliant cause. “Tonight was full of glitz, glamour and amazing music AND all for a great cause @janiesfund which is a life raft for abused girls,” she wrote. “Thanks to @iamstevent @billycorgan and all the artists and musicians that came together tonight to raise money for this amazing charity!”
