Robert Irwin Practices DWTS Dance With Niece In ‘Precious’ Video

Robert Irwin, a conservationist and “Dancing With the Stars” season 34 contestant, shared a video on September 20 practicing his moves with his 4-year-old niece, capturing fans’ hearts.

In the video shared on Irwin’s Instagram page, the 21-year-old danced alongside his niece Grace, daughter of Bindi Irwin, winner of DWTS season 21.

The two held hands as Robert instructed the toddler on some dance moves. Bindi can be heard shouting she “loved” the pair’s routine in the background.

“The mirrorball champion has approved it so that’s a good dance,” Robert replied. “Everybody else can go home now. Grace has won.”

“She is prepped and ready for season 50 of @dancingwiththestars,” Robert wrote in the caption of the post.

The season 34 contestant went on to express his appreciation for his family as he takes on the ballroom.

“Seriously so grateful I have my family here supporting me on this DWTS journey,” he said.

Robert Irwin’s Next DWTS Performance & Premiere Recap

Robert returns to the ballroom on September 23 for “One-Hit Wonders Night,” dancing with his partner Carson to “Move Your Feet,” by Junior Senior’s. The pair will perform a Tango to the song.

The contestants face an episode ending in double elimination as no couples went home on premiere night. During the season’s debut, Robert and Carson performed a Jive to “Born to Be Wild” by Steppenwolf, leaving the judges in awe, according to TODAY.

“That was, like, probably the best first dance I have ever seen on this show,” DWTS judge Derek Hough said. “That was incredible.”

Hough, who danced alongside Bindi in 2015, commented on Robert having big shoes to fill with Bindi’s win.

“Listen, you had some big shoes to fill with Bindi, but you didn’t just fill them — you owned those shoes, my friend,” he said. “Have you been practicing? Have you been practicing for 10 years?”

Robert told the judge “No,” saying it was “all Witney.”

Judge Bruno Tonioli further praised the couple.

“Robert, mate, that wasn’t good. It was great! Wow, wonderful in the best possible way,” Tonioli said. “Your flicks, kicks and flicks side by side with the pointed feet — absolutely brilliant.”

The Australia native scored a 15 out of 20 on the first episode, tying with “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Whitney Leavitt and her dance partner Mark Ballas.
