What Happened During the Crash
Spelling detailed the moments leading up to the collision, explaining that another driver was allegedly speeding and ran a light before hitting her vehicle. She said she reacted quickly upon realizing impact was unavoidable, turning the car sharply to try to minimize harm to the children. The force of the crash caused the vehicle to spin.
Authorities confirmed that deputies responded to the scene and that all individuals involved were medically evaluated. Spelling and the seven children were transported to the hospital in multiple ambulances and treated for injuries including cuts, bruises and concussions, per People. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made.
GettySpelling shares five children with ex-husband Dean McDermott, though it has not been confirmed which of her children were in the car at the time.
As she continues to reflect on the incident, Spelling emphasized how quickly the situation unfolded and how grateful she is for everyone’s safety.
“We’re OK, but it’s been really overwhelming.”
