“Dancing with the Stars” Mirrorball trophy winners Witney Carson and Robert Irwin are together again and having a blast. Just days after Irwin returned home to Australia and resumed his work at the Australia Zoo, Carson and her family arrived for a visit.
Carson and Irwin have been sharing numerous updates about their time together via social media, and DWTS fans will not want to miss any of it. In a new Instagram post, Carson teased a hug that was worth traveling for, but it wasn’t Irwin who was the recipient.
Witney Carson’s Hug Wasn’t for Robert Irwin
On January 15, Carson took to Instagram to share a new video highlight of her time in Australia. The caption read, “Some hugs are worth traveling the world for! Right @robertirwinphotography?!!”
Text on the video Carson uploaded read, “Traveled 10,500 miles 30 hours of travel for this hug.”
The clip showed Carson walking with her arms spread wide open, ready to embrace someone. She walked through a parking lot, an airport, and an airplane before approaching Irwin at the zoo.
Irwin had his arms open as if to hug Carson, but she walked right past him. Instead, he received a high-five from her. Ultimately, Carson had her sights set on someone else as the intended hug recipient: a koala.
Once Carson had a koala at the zoo wrapped in her arms for a serious snuggle, she smiled, content as could be.
‘Dancing with the Stars’ Fans Love Seeing Irwin & Carson Together Again
On January 4, Irwin posted a series of photos that showed him with Carson, her husband, Carson McAllister, and their sons, Jet and Leo. The whole family had received personalized khaki Australian Zoo shirts.
The caption of Irwin’s post read, “The gang is back together.” Videos included in the post showed the family hanging out with a group of lemurs that Carson declared were “so cute,” and checking out snakes, giraffes, and other animals.
In one video, Irwin gave Carson a huge hug and exclaimed, “I can’t believe you guys are here!”
“Dancing with the Stars” fans and veterans are loving the updates.
Fellow season 34 contestant Danielle Fishel commented on Carson’s newest hug post, “You got me. That hug looks AMAZING!”
Judge Carrie Ann Inaba added, “Love seeing you guys reunited.”
A fan gushed, “This is just the cutest thing ever.”
Another noted, “The way she is holding the koala and her facial expression it’s like she had a third child. Quick get the adoption papers!”
Carson has also posted lots of great highlights via her Instagram Stories. Recent activities for the family included searching for macadamia nuts to snack on, feeding zoo animals, watching Irwin feed crocodiles, and hitting the beach for some surfing.
