Hallmark Fans Rejoice: Another Biltmore Christmas Movie Is Officially Happening

Hallmark is working on a new movie that will have fans jumping for joy. According to Variety on December 22, Hallmark is returning to the Biltmore Estate to film another movie.

Hallmark’s New Biltmore Movie Will Debut During Countdown to Christmas 2026

The upcoming movie will debut during the 2026 holiday season. It will star Holland Roden and Niall Matter, as well as Jonathan Frakes.

Frakes played Winston in the initial Biltmore film, which aired in 2023.

Variety shared that Roden and Matter will play “acquaintances in the Gilded Age who become more than that in the present day.” Filming of the new Biltmore-based Hallmark movie begins production in January 2026.

The new movie will be directed by Dustin Rikert, who also directed “Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story” with Roden. Marcy Holland, who penned “A Biltmore Christmas,” wrote the script for the upcoming release.

The production will film at the Biltmore Estate and other locations in the area, such as Pack’s Tavern and Asheville’s Fine Arts Theatre.

Hallmark’s Return Comes After The Estate Experienced Hurricane Damage

“A Biltmore Christmas” starred Bethany Joy Lenz and Kristoffer Polaha. At the time it aired, Polaha told EntertainmentNow he thought a sequel to the movie could easily be put together.

Now, Hallmark is heading to the Biltmore Estate again, but with a new story.

Fans may remember that the Biltmore Estate, located in Asheville, North Carolina, sustained significant damage during Hurricane Helene in 2024.

The Biltmore Estate is ready for Hallmark to create some magic there again, and so are fans. Polaha wasn’t the only one who thought a follow-up Biltmore movie should be created.

Hallmark Fans Continue to Love ‘A Biltmore Christmas’

In March, one Hallmark fan shared on Reddit that Frakes mentioned the possibility to her at a fan event. “While I would hate to see a sequel, what could be interesting is Frakes, the hotel, and the hourglass are central to a new movie. So a series of totally independent films all around that mechanism.”

Another gushed, “Omg that’s so amazing. I loved that movie to the moon and back so I’d love to see where they go from there.”

Based on past comments by Hallmark fans regarding the original “A Biltmore Christmas,” the network has a high standard to reach with this follow up.

Several months ago, a Reddit user noted, “Bethany and Polaha brought some magic to the screen.”

Another raved, “BJL is always so good and Kris Polaha has the voice and mannerisms of an old black and white movie star down pat. Together they are gold! It’s in my top 5 for sure.”

Hallmark Media’s head of programming Michelle Vicary teased via Variety that screenwriter Holland has “created another captivating romance set in this unique and special place.”

Vicary added, “We can’t wait for viewers to travel back to Biltmore and fall for this new love story as much as they did the first one.”

  1. Kristopher and Bethany are two of the best actors Hallmark has! Let’s see more of them! Biltmore Christmas is my ultimate favorite. A sequel couldn’t top it. Besides, you can’t use the hour glass without messing up Jack’s return to Lucy. Merry Christmas!

  2. There must have been a reason why Hallmark casted two different actors. Perhaps they wanted to start fresh with a newer story or perhaps once you get to the top with a beautiful movie, like the first, you can’t get any higher. Who knows? Maybe BJL and Christopher will star together in an entirely different movie.

  4. Sequels include same characters and stars so description is not truly a sequel, just a new story, new characters, news stars in the same location, happy for Biltmore Estates and fans of Biltmore!
    Happy filming, best wishes!

  5. I totally Agree….very sad that they could not sign them on…Will probably not watch it b/c would just compare to first whereas take it from Wicked…keep the same actors…

  6. If they are doing another/an update, why don’t they use the original actors? Those are the ones the public liked; why put in new faces with no relevancy to the original?

  7. I agree with the others… I’d like to see BJL and KP reunite in a sequel of the original movie, not new actors. I loved them together. They are great actors and have great chemistry. Sometimes it’s better not to change things up than to do it and it be compared to the other movie because there will definitely be some who are really disappointed!!

On a separate issue, I really like the tried and true old Hallmark actors who have been a staple for years on the network. And, I’m not a fan of putting new actors that we don’t know or like as good with our long time favorite actors (the tried and true old actors). Some couples are very mismatched. The pairing of couples that Hallmark does needs to be the tried & true old actors paired with one another, not new actors we don’t know with the tried & true old actors. My husband & I feel very strongly about this. This is our opinion. I’m sure some other people might feel differently and that’s okay. Our common interest is that we all like Hallmark. :))
