Before Hallmark star Heather Hemmens walked down the aisle, she enjoyed a bachelorette celebration surrounded by friends.
Following news of her Aug. 8 wedding to Nick Wajda, the Hallmark star gave fans a glimpse at the festivities in a video shared Wednesday, Aug. 12.
Hemmens’ Fun Post
“Whomever said wedding planning was stressful didn’t have these ladies by their side,” Hemmens captioned the video.
The playful clip showed Hemmens relaxing poolside as she was pampered by her friends.
At one point, someone fanned her while she lounged with a drink in hand.
The actress also showed off lingerie during the celebration and later had her feet rubbed, making for a lighthearted look at her pre-wedding festivities.
Fans and fellow Hallmark stars quickly filled the comments with congratulations and compliments for the newlywed.
“Stunning so happy for you,” one person wrote.
Jonathan Bennett also joined in with a playful message, writing, “You’re so hot it makes me think I like girls, and then I’m like, nah, but damn gurrrrl you are fire!!!”
She Ties the Knot at Her House
The celebration came shortly before Hemmens married Wajda in an intimate ceremony at their Los Angeles home.
The actress married Wajda at the couple’s home in Los Angeles on Saturday, Aug. 8, just three months after announcing their engagement.
The intimate celebration brought together 40 guests for a wedding Hemmens and Wajda described as “the beginning of our dream come true.”
Rather than traveling to a traditional wedding venue, the couple decided to transform their own home into the setting for their big day.
“We wanted an intimately detailed celebration, but with no travel stress,” Hemmens told PEOPLE. “Where better than our home?”
The decision also made the planning process easier for the newlyweds.
“Deciding to get married in our home was the best decision!” Hemmens said. “It really simplified things and has been so fun transforming it into our dream wedding venue!”
Hemmens walked down the aisle to “When I Get My Hands on You” by The New Basement Tapes. She wore an elegant wedding gown featuring intricate floral lace appliqués and a dramatic tulle overskirt, while Wajda chose a navy blue suit.
Hemmens’ Wedding Dress Was Gourgous
The bride admitted her wedding-day look ended up being more elaborate than she originally imagined.
“I was going for something very understated but… once I tried on this dress, all that went out the window!” she said.
The couple exchanged handwritten vows during an outdoor ceremony in front of a round floral arch. Hemmens’ uncle, Winston, officiated the ceremony.
For the couple, the ceremony represented a celebration of a relationship they already felt certain about.
Hemmens described their marriage as “just an official confirmation” of what she and Wajda “already knew two weeks into dating.”
“We want us, forever,” she said.
The couple had hoped their wedding would include several personal touches, including an ocean-view ceremony, good food and plenty of time to celebrate with the people closest to them.
“We wanted an ocean-view ceremony, delicious food, and dancing under the stars with our closest family and friends,” Hemmens said.
Hemmens is known from her role in “Roswell, New Mexico” and other Hallmark projects. Some of her films include “Christmas Under the Lights” and “Caribbean Summer.”
She became engaged to Wajda on April 14. He proposed during a romantic getaway to Isla Mujeres, a Mexican island in the Caribbean.
