Hallmark fan favorite Holly Robinson Peete has shared a very personal and emotional reminder as she remembered soap icon Kristoff St. John. Peete and St. John worked together on “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper” back in the ‘90s. St. John died in February 2019.

Taking to Instagram, Peete posted a carousel of throwbacks of St. John. Some of the pictures were from their time on “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper”, while others were just some of her favorite shots of “The Young and the Restless” fan favorite.
“There are some people you never forget. ❤️ Long before we ever worked together, I had the biggest puppy-love crush on Kristoff St. John. 😍Everyone knows him from @youngandrestlesscbs but long before that I thought he was the cutest best child actor ever,” she began her lengthy caption.
Peete went on to talk about their time on the hit ABC sitcom. In fact, she showed a few of her favorite “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper” scenes that she shared with St. John in the post.
“What I remember most isn’t just his talent…it was his spirit. Kristoff was genuinely one of the kindest, warmest people you’d ever want to meet. We had the best time on set —so many laughs,” the actress stated.
The reason Peete had been thinking about St. John was that July 15 would have been his 60th birthday. It was also because she wanted to send a powerful reminder to fans.
“His passing also reminds me of something we can never hear enough: you just never know what someone is carrying behind their smile. Check in on your people. Send the text. Make the call. Let them know they’re not alone. Be the safe space someone needs, because sometimes that simple act of showing up can mean more than you’ll ever know,” Peete expressed before declaring that St John’s “kindness” and “beautiful heart” are remembered daily.
St. John died of heart disease in his San Fernando Valley home. “The Young and the Restless” paid tribute to St. John a few months later with heartbreaking episodes in which his character, Neil, died off-screen.

It didn’t take long for the comments section on Peete’s social media post to be flooded with responses to her emotional message and tribute.
One of those replies was from Raven-Symoné, who said, “Childhood. The man was so kind to me, and yalls chemistry was amazing! 🕊️”
Angie Harmon also left a message for her friend, writing, “Love you sister… ❤️🕊️❤️. They are lights in our lives…” St. John’s former “The Young and the Restless” co-star Lauralee Bell left a red heart emoji.
“Wow! You had such a long history with him, Holly! He was so handsome and talented and seemed to have such warmth and depth. Thank you for posting this reminder to check in on our people. 🤍🕊️” wrote a fan.

There’s no question that Peete’s words left many in their feels as the loss of St. John still hits deep.
