Just days after announcing her new upcoming series, Lacey Chabert and a full Hallmark team are in Paris, France, starting production.
“Paris Is Always a Good Idea” will air as a limited series on Hallmark+ later this year.
Lacey Chabert Had a Press Day for the Hallmark+ Series in Paris
On March 10, a new Instagram post on the Hallmark Channel PR page gave fans a big tease. The initial photo in the post featured Chabert, and production equipment could be spotted as she talked with someone.
The caption read, “A Hallmark press day in France? Oui oui!”
“The publicity and PR team visited the City of Love for the start of production on the newly announced @hallmarkplus limited series, Paris is Always a Good Idea!”
The caption further noted that Chabert’s co-star and love interest for “Paris Is Always a Good Idea,” Scott Michael Foster, was also there. Chabert, Foster, and others starring on the upcoming project chatted with media outlets about “what’s in store for Hallmark viewers later this year.”
Filming is slated to take place in both Paris and Spain. The caption also teased, “Next stop? Spain!”
One short video in the post seemed to show Chabert filming. She waited for her cue as a man walking a dog started a second before her. Foster was shown in one photo talking with press, but not filming.
The post also quoted Damian Holbrook of TV Guide, who “said Lacey’s not just match fetch happen, she’s ‘making French happen!’ Brilliant!” The quip was a nod to Chabert’s role in the iconic movie “Mean Girls.”
The Limited Series Will Debut on Hallmark+ Later in 2026
The confirmation that production for “Paris Is Always a Good Idea” was already kicking into high gear came just a week after the project was formally announced.
On March 3, Hallmark+ featured Chabert in an Instagram post sharing the news. The new series starring Chabert is based on the popular Jenn McKinlay book of the same name.
Chabert had already spilled the beans that she was in Paris starting to work on the project. On March 9, she shared a couple Instagram Stories showing she was in France “working.”
In addition to Chabert and Foster, the upcoming series will also star Hallmark fan favorite Barbara Niven, who also stars in the “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” movies. Foster previously starred in several Hallmark movies, including the 2025 movie “Return to Office” with Janel Parrish.

too bad it’s on halmark+, another thing i can’t afford being on a fixed income…….love her regular hallmark movies
They run specials a lot and it’s a pretty good deal. Plus, you can watch whatever you want, when you want.
They are running a special for $39.99 with code HVHMK50 through 3/26 for the 1st year. Then it would $79.99 but you also get perks and free cards and other coupons at Hallmark stores.
I really like not having commercialism and being able to save my favorite movies in a watchlist.
And No I don’t work for Hallmark. 🙂
I meant commercials not commercialism . Thanks auto correct.
