Hallmark star Ryan Paevey, 41, made an unexpected friend while surfing the waves with his friends, taking to Instagram to share footage from his day at the beach.
The “General Hospital” actor shared a video on Friday, April 3, of his time surfing in between filming a new movie. In the caption, he shared that he met a shark who ended up being more friendly than expected.
Ryan Paevey Befriends Shark While Surfing
EntertainmentNow“Soooo l’m in Kentucky filming a movie, but before I was in Kentucky filming a movie, I was home for one whole day, and me and my buddies spent the whole damned thing surfing,” Paevey wrote. “It was super fun. I made friends with a shark. More on that later ;).”
In the comments of his post, Paevey elaborated on his budding friendship with the shark, writing, “just a little leopard shark that was oddly curious, but so so so cool. Beautiful little creatures…i see em often, but they don’t usually rise to the surface and stick around so long.”
The actor was active with many of his fans by responding to their questions in his comments. When one fan said they hoped filming in Kentucky went smoothly for him, Paevey mentioned how the last time he filmed in the Bluegrass State, he cracked his ribs.
“haha well i don’t think im getting stabbed with a retractable stunt needle that doesn’t retract in this one, or getting hit in the back with a shovel and cracking a couple ribs….so its def off to a better start,” the actor wrote.
Ryan Paevey Confirms If He’s Attending 2026 Hallmark Cruise
GettyWhen a fan complimented him for the footage quality of his day on the waves, Paevey credited his drone for being able to capture such fine detail from every angle.
“drones are wild man, such cool tech for storytelling,” he said. “And who says all those years playing video games were a waste?? Haha.”
Despite Paevey’s liking to the water, when a fan asked if he’d be joining the Hallmark Cruise in October, he confirmed that he won’t be attending because he hasn’t received an invite from the network.
“those things take a lot of time to plan, and if i haven’t been invited by now, pretty unlikely ill be there :/,” he said.
Although he’s been open about nonstop filming in recent weeks, Paevey has played coy about details for what he’s been working on. He did, however, share in March that he would be leaving soon to film a new movie (likely the one he was in Kentucky for). Fans are thrilled, though, as Paevey appears to be fully committed to acting for the first time after taking a step back from the big screen in 2024.
